We're having really good progress on making the basic rules. :) Now there's a stable ground for me to continue with detailing the locations and magic items.

This seems really cool, and I'd love to be in when it comes around!
It won't be anytime soon, but I'll try to hurry with this so people can play something while PvP is down. But I'm glad you like it. :)

Right before the moment of writing this down, I had an idea. How about players don't see the full map by default (so they need to explore first), but there would be a character skill (maybe called: Engineer), which would have the special ability to hold a full map from the beginning and have a possibility to enter the map anywhere (on the sides) on the very first round.

 I think it would be more interesting if the full maps need some effort to be obtained, like stealing the world map at the mayor's office or looting one from a Half-Blood's treasure hoard or taking it as a reward for a quest you just completed.

For now, the magic items are finally done. However, there are still some things to do left:
  • Finishing actions and events that players can trigger - finding a proper use for magic items in these situations
  • Completing the full backstory of the actual mystery - which will be one of the goals, to solve it

Once again, I have to ask for the help of the community.

My question is, how should the combat between 2 players work? Example situation:

Player A is holding a magic sword with a currently irrelevant effect. It is still usable as a normal sword. Player B instead is holding a normal pipe, being used as a mid-strong weapon now. The sword's blade is 75cm long, the pipe is only 60cm long, but it's much more lighter, so faster to use.

Questions:
  • Should the features of the weapons, like lenght and weight, be taken into consideration when 2 players fight?
  • Should there be exact damage numbers on each weapon or should they be just compared by which one is mid-strong, strong or weak?
  • What system should I use for calculating damage? <-- Most Important Question
  • If there will be any, should attackpoints be also used for defending? For example, using a sword's attackpoints for blocking damage.

EDIT: 80/100 % of the Combat Manual is ready.

1. yes
2. maybe a 2-3 point range? like: dagger, 1-3 damage, blah blah blah
3. roll a 100 sided dice with outcomes depending on preference and damages (eg, if rolled 11-40, dagger deals 1, 41-70, 2 damage, 71-99, 3 damage, 100, 4 damage, 1-10, 0 damage)(example, not anything to go by) same goes for enemy attacks
4. unless specified on a weapon, no. when specified, maybe reduce it by half of sword's attack when a shield isnt equipped

Thanks dawn. :) Hosting won't come any time soon until the behind-the-scenes rules are fixed, but with every advice given here, we're getting closer to the actual start.

Now you gave me an idea to stick with. The d100 idea, however, wouldn't really fit the combat style which this event makes possible.
Edit: Now I already know how to finish the Combat Manual, now I only need time to finish it and right after that I can start working on
