N.E.S.? That thing sure is old (but awesome). I don't have an N.E.S. but I have a Wii and some N.E.S. games for it from the Wii shop. My favorite games for that were the final fantasy games. Ahhh.... good times... Good days wasted away playing those games...

Oh lord, i remember playing Duck Hunt for hours upon hours. But it's been too long since I've played it, I don't remember what level I made it to, but it was high(for the game).

I miss my NES. Definitely one of the best consoles ever. Then the SNES came out and blew it out of the water. To this date, I don't think there is anything that truly beats out the awesomeness of the SNES.

I definitely agree Kamietsu, SNES is the best (or at least one of the best). I'm not really into all those brainless shooter games. They are okay sometimes, but just not as fun as all the old games I like to play.

Cue to the eff to the tee. For realzies.

Seriously though, I have never seen a console with as many high-quality games as the SNES. Not only were the games amazing when they were brand new (FFIII blew my mind), but most of them have what seems like never-ending replay value (case-in-point: current SNES emulator popularity). The console itself is resilient to wear, and the controllers are arguably more ergonomic than anything out there. I love me some Nintendo, for sure, but the SNES rocked my world. :)

Since I own a PS3, I can use the controller as a game pad, and i do for whenever I play my emulators. It works awesomely for GBA and Playstation emulators.

Heh, all the great CRPGs for SNES... just today I've been laying waste to Final Fantasy V.  Anyone here played Earthbound?

When it comes to the NES, one of my all-time favorites is Blaster Master.  Still have yet to clear it without savestates.

I kinda love the old stuff more last year I got out my LoZ:Ocarina of time and bought a SSB.

Its weird how even though I grew up with ruby sapphire and emerald in pokemon red is my second favourite (besides my beloved ruby :D ) and I LOVE LoZ:Ocarina of time even though I just started a few years ago :D

oh yeah and my next door neighbour on his first try on duck hunt got up to the 20's before missing 3

I hope I can get legend of zelda for the nes soon :P

People I know tend to ask me, "why are you playing such an old game?  The graphics are so simple."  "Because it's fun."  Reminds me of a YouTube comment I read not too long ago.  Someone was playing Final Fantasy V and his brother came up and said, "you know we have Final Fantasy XIII in the PS3..."  "I know."

Zelda for NES is actually available at least four different ways - emulator, NES, GBA, and Wii.

Getting set to destroy the last half of Final Fantasy V here.  My setup is as follows:
Bartz - Dragoon with White Magic  (priest that can jump for safety)
Reina - Knight with Blue Magic  (stuff like White Wind, Missile, Blowfish, Flash, Fusion, mostly low-cost and not dependent on magic power)
Galuf/Krile - Dancer with Mix (Sword Dance with Chicken Knife after buffing the party obscenely)
Faris - Wizard with Steal/Escape (for boosting Chicken Knife and getting Genji stuffs... and couldn't go without my favorite caster type!)

Probably nobody cares, but I had to share my super-fun setup.  :P

I like to here people's set up johannhowitzer.

I'm playing Final Fantasy I and my setup is (mind you, the setups were even simpler back then)

Kent - Fighter
Sera - White Mage
Ewan - Black Mage
Leo - Thief

Fighters are a must for me because of how strong their melee damage is and how many hits they can take. Most people get the Red Mage and ignore White and Black mages because of their low health and lack of weapons they can use, but the Red Mage doesn't get as high level magic charges and it's handy to have a two mages so I can heal and attack with magic on the same turn. Thieves pretty much just suck... but later they can be upgraded to ninjas and those are great! Ninjas can use almost all weapons as well as some low level black magic charges.

As some of you might see, I'm rather Fire Emblem influenced too and stole some names from those games.
