For planets, I'd just go with names from Roman Mythology. Mars for fire, Pluto for death, Neptune for water, etc.

This is a little off-topic, but I'll say it anyway. A while ago, I had a mini-project in school where I had to create an ancient Greek city. It had to have a Greek-sounding name, so I got creative and named it Zerupolis. :P
