I understand what you are saying but isn't the whole concept of "being offended" a bit silly? I mean it's usually nothing more than a person disagreeing with you. The way I see it, we as human beings must be able to talk about things because that's the only way we can move forward as a species. The whole idea of not being able to talk about something because it might offend someone, feels like censorship to me.
What someone may see as drama or arguments, someone else might see as a debate. The whole point of a debate is that people start with opposing beliefs and talk about them. They will naturally disagree with a lot of things, but that's not automatically something negative like causing drama or having a fight. If all discussions were just people agreeing with each other, what's the point of even having those discussions?
Person A: "I think that X is real."
Person B: "I agree."
Person C: "I couldn't agree more."
Person D: "I also agree."
Person A: "Thanks guys for agreeing with me."
Forums like that would be pretty boring and pointless.
I have one question to everyone who gets offended every now and then.
If you get offended by someone having different beliefs than you, what exactly is the offence? Having a different opinion? As a bonus, here's a comedian talking about being offended. It's not directed to anyone on this topic, I just found it funny.
Hopefully this post didn't offend anyone
