As some of you may have already noticed, the spreadsheet main page has received a face lift! Hopefully these new changes will help in the efforts to make gameplay a bit smoother, clearer and faster. Thank you to those that were involved with inserting coding into the page!
Extra Evolutions have been introduced. Fear not, however! These Evolutions do not affect gameplay whatsoever. This section has been added to character sheets in order for players and testers in general to be able to suggest and test out new Evolution ideas, in essence being like a sandbox for Evolutions.
If you have played with us before and would like to propose a balanced, thematic and innovative Evolution for a particular character, give it a try.3 of the Elemental Expansion characters (Sylph, Vampire and Undine), have been removed for the time being. Though the 12 Elementals are complete, they still need to be tested and refined further and anyone willing to help and test them out can simply poke me in chat for a quick(er) test game of no more than 3 players!
I would also like to remind everyone that though this game can be a blast when playing with some friends, it -is- a board game translated into spreadsheets and online dice rolls, and so it can take a bit of time. Some games have taken at least 2 hours and the more Players that participate, I find, the longer games take. This may not necessarily be because it is a part of the game design, but it may be because you simply have more people to wait on. From testing, ideal games are around 3-4 players, but games -can- still work with groups of 3-6 players. Hopefully, more changes such as those of the main page can be implemented in order to shorten gameplay time and make the game run as smooth as possible.
Having said that, if you're interested in trying out a game, make sure to read as much info you can from the OP and if you have any doubts, feel free to ask any experienced player!
Just in case YouTube videos aren't your thing, a
King of Tokyo Rulebook (pdf) has been added to the OP in case you'd like to read up on the rules and see how the board game works! Keep in mind, though, some things are slightly different the way we play the game as there is no actual board to play on!
With all that in mind, keep having a blast.
