It is a problem when the belittling happens. When someone acts like they are better than another person just because of what? The instant
you start belittling another member of the community, no matter how ignorant the person is, you are no longer thinking of the community. Instead of directing them to the correct path, you are proving yourself to be no better than them. We all love elements, however, we shouldnt be an elitist hive mind. We should *encourage* people to provide correct grammar, however, especially when a game has advanced tactics, assuming the person is willfully ignorant is not the way to go.
Sometimes I forget whether I have the elements or gamefaqs message board open because of how elitist people are being.

without being elitist. Those are all qualities that are common among all sorts of forum members. Take however belittling. That is something common among only 2 types of forum members. Trolls and elitists. It is found everywhere, however, the main holders are the 2 aforementioned parties. Please keep in mind I am not saying elitists and trolls are the only groups to do this, but instead am saying that they are the main culprits.
