There is no "bright side of life" when I see everything with cold indifference. I'm sure I'll feel a bit better if I can just talk to my friend, but for some strange unknown reasons she seemed to have blocked me on MSN and refused to acknowledge my existence when I saw her in the hallway. None of my other friends know enough about me to understand why I might be depressed, so I can't really talk to them either. Talking to my parents is just... no; while their intentions are good, they judge and criticize everything I say and do. It feels terrible, really, to be depressed and have no one to talk to. I just hope my friend would unblock me; if she isn't smart enough to figure out that trying to avoid the problem is never a good solution, I'll be very disappointed.

Purity_Riot, I do not like your tone. To me, it seems like you'd rather like me to be gone and fail at university, purely for spite instead of the justified anger that SG showed. If you don't have anything nice to say, or any legitimate flames to throw at me, then please just leave.

My dad wants me to research about the SAT this weekend. Until I get that done, I probably can't do anything time-consuming here, such as writing the Featured Card analysis and participating in my own forum game.

Hey, Bloodshadow! Sorry to hear that your school stuff is preventing you to be active in the forum. I fear I would be in the same boat as you are now next year. I'm grade 11 right now, and I love science just as you do, though not in physics particularly. Einstein wrote in a letter saying that it is not a good idea to become a pure scientist immediately, because if you can't hand out results, you have no money, there will be the publish or perish pressure, which does no good to being a good scientist. Einstein started out working for a patenting company, perhaps you should really set eyes to the wider possibilities, there are innumerable careers related to physics. Eking out a living should come first, to become the basis that will support your dream to become a real scientist. It's good to have big dreams, but idealism gets you only so far, sometimes you got to be practical. I'm thinking about a career in Biomedical engineering, a field that pretty much mixes up all three main branches of of science into one. This career has a great prospect, it is predicted to be the fourth most in demand job in the future. so I think I'm standing on firm ground here. About light speed travel, I don't know very much, I just started physics this year, but I think as long as light speed is not infinite(which it isn't), it can be reached and exceeded, the only question is how. The reaction between anti-matter(hey that's an elements card!) and normal matter is said to be able to convert 100% of the mass of matter into energy, that is an extraordinary amount of energy. If we manage to harness this much energy, light speed travel won't be far away. But what happens after light speed travel? Even at the speed of light is still takes hundreds of years to get to another galaxy, I'm not sure how much good it will do us. I think the advances in science is coming towards its peak, just like the maximum of a parabola, it's time we change direction and learn to preserve what we have instead of infinitely looking for new things the universe can offer us. We need to learn to create our place in the universe as a sustainable existence instead of a plague that spreads on an on and eventually die along with its host. It's ok if the last part makes no sense, I just want to say I wish you good luck in life, have fun exploring the wonders of the universe. I think we have a lot in common, like strict parents. Luckily, I use a laptop and my parents don't really know what I'm doing on it most of the time.

As for BS, well, I think it was a fairly legitimate point. You've been posting in this thread quite a bit, but not in your other threads. It seems to me like you'd have plenty of time to post if you stopped whingeing and instead posted in your other threads. I mean, your arguments are well thought out, so clearly you're putting alot of effort in to what was supposed to be you just telling us that you don't have time to post. You did the exact same thing in the RPG, you'd rarely come on, complaining about how busy you were, but you'd be able to post two or three times about that, then complain about people's characters, then you didn't post about your character.

From what I've observed, this is exactly what you do. You end up in a bad situation, then complain about, looking to the forum for support with your problems, then don't do the work you're supposed to be doing.

In regards to your female friend - perhaps she's going through an equally stressful time, or might possibly be reacting to something that you may not be able to help with or deal with (especially if you're under these depressed conditions). She'll probably let you in, but only time will tell. As for your parents - I can understand why. Considering that the SATs (or ACTs) are going to be tough, here's a hint: focus on either getting a '6' in writing or a 650+ in math. Those two scores are going to be needed for whatever major you're applying yourself into (Physics especially).

In regards to the time-consuming aspects, people will cover for you, assuming that you're unable to. I'm sure that someone will probably take over the project for you as necessary to keep it going and help the wiki flow (i.e. - I'll do it anyway). >_>

Problem is, to reach light speed, you need an infinite amount of energy. I'm not sure how exactly this works, but it probably has something to do with relativity, because spacetime is more skewed the faster you go. When you reach light speed, space and time would actually become one, if my theory is correct.

You thought wrong. Those posts of mine contained almost no effort at all (especially the physics bits, since I know all that stuff on top of my head), which is why I've been posting in this thread but not anywhere else. Even if I did make any effort, it would be because that I simply cannot stand to have myself insulted by someone when clearly s/he completely missed my point and misunderstood my intentions. But for things that require REAL effort, such as writing a card analysis, that I can't do during weekdays.

No. I would immediately abandon all my work on this forum if it puts my real life in jeopardy.

It will threaten my life if my parents catch me. It had happened before, and suffice to say that the experience was not pleasant. I'm AFRAID to post anything important (e.g. card analysis), because I might get interrupted while doing it, and either get caught, or lose everything I've been working on for the past hour. I'd rather not risk it when I'll be severely punished if caught.
