I have to tell you guys, I was so FREAKING scared sitting there...my heart was racing like it hasn't since my wife told me she was pregnant. I actually did pat my elbow 3x during the preview shot (before the commercial), but they cut it off before I did.
I don't think I've ever been that uncomfortable in my life, either. It was literally this tiny little room with HUGE lights just off-camera, and everything that wasn't the cute little lamp-and-bookshelf behind me was straight industrial; wires and concrete and stuff was all I could see.
They set me up with an earbud and a microphone, and then left and let me sit there and stare at this totally automated camera for about 15 minutes while I listened to the show and waited for my turn. It was so incredibly difficult to remember to look at the camera when I was answering, because the natural inclination is to look up or at least away while you think about the answer to a question.
Seriously, all around, one of the hardest 5 minutes of my life. But SO COOL!
Anyway, thanks to all of you for being supportive and cool. And if you missed it and are interested, it's right here:
