Splitting boards divides attention and reduces traffic. Most of the child boards in Off-topic are dead and are sooner slated for merging with the main Off-topic board rather than us creating even more child boards. Any reason we can't post "food" topics in Off-topic?

Usually a new board is requested when there's a large amount of threads on a certain topic. I can't see a single food thread.

It is very likely that they are dead because not as many people were particularly interested in having discussions regarding "Books & Comics" (1 page), "Visual Arts" (2 pages) or the particular section is overall discontinued, such as in the case of "Battle".

We should also keep in mind that certain sections have had this much activity since they were created in the forums, which has been a while now.

A Food child board would at the very least be more warranted than the ones mentioned before, and it wouldn't be surprising at all to see it grow much more (and much faster) than most of any of the Child Boards the Off-topic section currently has.

I can't imagine that the goal of any of the Child Boards in the Off-topic section was so that it would have little interest and/or discussion.

Just go create some food topics in the main Off-topic board, and if there is enough activity, maybe you'll get a board. No need to create a board before it's needed.

That is literally how most of the Off-topic child boards were created in the first place, but if that's the precedent we'd like to set, it's perfectly fine by me.

So, if anyone wants a Food child board, please, share some of your favourite recipes! (or even just some recipes that are good to know)

It hasn't been a priority discussion. We would probably keep Religion, Philosophy, Humor, PC/Video games, Literary Arts, Forum Games, Role Playing, Multilingual and Farewell.
