Did you make new friends on the forum?

I'm wondering how the forum can help making friends. Is here anyone who made new friends either by the forum or the game?

Requirements:
- you didn't know each other before you met on the forum or in the game
- you meet up often in real life after becoming friends

I have a lot of friends I met in the chat and on the forum, even though I never met any of the in real life.

I think online friend has a different meaning than real life friend, but there are certainly people I get along with pretty good here.  I haven't met anyone here in real life, but I did discover that n00biecakes, if anyone remembers him, lives in my home city and was attending the high school I went to back in the day.  That's as close as I've gotten :p

Online friends are different, in some cases even closer than real friends. But no, this hasn't helped me make new friends by your definition. Elements is not that widely played.

I want to believe ive made some friends here. No, i havent met anyone irl(although i come from the same town as vaggers), but, i would gladly meet face to face some of them. In fact, if i ever get the chance i would persue it.

I've talked about EtG with at least two "real world" friends who also play, but I don't think either has ever been part of the community.

I've met quite a few people in this community who I would consider friends after the amount of time spent with them and to greater extents the amount of my personal life that I have been willing to share with them.

Unfortunately I'm more of the type of person who likes to use a computer to filter what I'd like to say to a person before speaking to them, so I never really tried to pursue verbal face-to-face confrontation with some of the people that I know are in my general area because I'm sure I'd do or say something to make me seem awkward as hell. I'm really not all that sociable in real life anyways, to make matters worse.
