And with that comment this thread heads for the gutter.  : P

When I was camping this year we met these people on another campsite with a funny card game.  Basically you have two types of cards; one has a dirty/gross/random things written on it and the other has funny questions.  Everyone takes turns reading out a question card, and then people submit their answers.  The person who asked the question then reads all the answers out loud and whichever they think is the funniest wins that round.

I wish I could remember some of the actual questions and cards but I was drinking heavily.  Great game to play around the campfire with strangers tho!

Avast, you scallywags and bilge drinkers!  It be Talk Like a Pirate Day, so enjoy a properly themed game or I'll have ya keel-hauled.

Corsairs
It is a simple game of set collection and dice rolling, but we usually have a lot of fun with it when it hits the table.  Maybe that is just because one of our friends sounds like Billy Bob Thornton from Sling Blade when he talks like a pirate.

Libertalia
I know next to nothing about this one, but it is new, and we are supposed to give it a try tonight.

Munchkin Booty
More Munchkin to love...if you're into that kind of thing.

Pirate's Cove
I have never played this one, but I have heard that it was okay, and I have like other games from the publisher, Days of Wonder.

Rum and Pirates
I have not played this one either, and all I have heard is that it is a roll-and-move game.

Anyone have any other fun pirate-themed games?

Dominion. Seriously, that game kicks ass and the replayability is virtually infinite.

Also, I'm waiting for Card Hunter.

I cannot believe I forgot Dominion: Seaside.  It has some pirate-themed cards, and is my second-favorite Dominion expansion.  I have not heard of Card Hunter, nor could I find it on the Geek.

For those unfamiliar with Dominion it was the first of what is now a long line of games with the "deck building" mechanic.  Essentially, you start with a very small deck (10 cards in the case of Dominion), and you play those cards to produce resources or effects which let you acquire other cards you add to your deck.  Your deck continues to grow, and you must balance efficiency with winning conditions.
There are numerous strategies and combinations to consider.  The replayability comes from the fact that there will be somewhere between 25 and 150 different cards available (depending on how many expansions you have), and you only use 10 at a time.
Upon release, the game's reception was staggering.  It hooked Eurogamers and Ameritrash fans alike.  Its immense popularity spawned a huge number of imitators (Thunderstone, Ascension, Resident Evil, Nightfall, Penny Arcade, Core Worlds, Star Trek, etc.).  Each brings its own specific spin to the idea, but they are, at their core, copies of the innovative game that created the genre.

You know, there's this game called Elements I've come across.  It's only online, but it's a mostly decent card game.  I recommend it.

Anyways...  GO GO CATAN

Civilization was an ancient behemoth with convoluted rules, so we rewrote them from scratch.  Our 5-9 player version of the game only takes one entire day to play now.

Ok, this section is the paradise of a gamer like me, so here we go:

Yu-Gi-Oh!
I have played it a lot with my brother by using fake (not authentic) cards only. Though Yu-Gi-Oh's lack of balance is legendary, I have to admit it was the first TCG I have learnt to play and I have had great amounts of fun back then! Good times...

Magic: The Gathering
By the time I realised there was a whole genre of games known as TCG, I decided to search for more "Yu-Gi-Oh style" games. My search has leaded me to the very first TCG; Magic The Gathering. I started with 9th edition's starting pack and was later amazed by Ravinca: City of Guilds expansion pack, but I was later dissapointed by the amount of money you have to spend in order to build an effective MTG deck. Nowdays, I have just bought six Mirrodin-Phyrexia starter decks, I select one of them, my friend selects another one and we have our duels this way (and seriously, thses duels are much more fun and balanced than these with 500$ MTG decks). The best MTG experience I have ever had probably is a single-player computer version of the 4th edition (or 3rd, or 5th, or whatever); you can find the link here and it is abandonware:  http://www.cdosabandonware.com/std_games_details.php?gameid=2129

Dungeon Quest
This is a very unfair yet addivtive dungeon crawler board game. You select one character and go into a randomly generated dungeon, where you have to reach the treasure vault on the center of the board, take as much treasure as you can and escape before the time runs out. The fact you may find terrible and unfair death long before you reach the treasure vault shouldn't discourage you! Unfortunately, I haven't played the English/American version of the game; I have played a Greek copy under the name "Monokratoras" (in Greek, it literally means "The Only Ruler").

D&D 3.5th and 4th editions
Enough said here... If you don't know what d&d is, search and learn about it right now! :P

Game Of Thrones (Board Game)
Epic! Just epic!! Once again, enough said!!! ;D

DOOM: The Board Game
It plays much like Decent, but it is a futuristic "dungeon crawler" which brings the atmosphere of Doom 3 video game with it. You are alone in a high security scientific facility on Mars (known as Union Aerospace Corporation) and you have to make your way through to the escaping pods. Not an easy task at all, if you consider the amount of Demonic creatures that have invaded the base and lurk in every corner...
