In my opinion, the soundtrack of Total Annihilation is Jeremy Soule's best work - a bold statement about an impressive career.  For those who have not tasted its glory, I present you with a YouTube link.  Really, it stands up against any film score.

Because I can't really post highlights - every single track is worthy of mention, and I'd have to post them all - I'm just going to post a playlist link.

If I had to pick favorites... "Ambush in the Passage" and "Forest Green."

Oh oh oh oh o ho ho ho hoh oh oh oh~

My favourite RTS game of all time!  :D :D :D :D :D

Absolutely awesome music indeed, AND it's dynamic in-game (track for large battle starts when there is a large battle, skirmish music for skirmishing, aftermath music when scavengers wander about in the debris-littered fields...)

Edit:
I have a T.A. music playlist on Youtube as well xD

Ah yes, this is also my favorite RTS of all time.  It did so many things just right.  I fail to understand why RTS's that came afterwards failed to steal the stellar ideas that Total Annihilation pioneered, and instead kept regurgitating the same old formula.

I am not lying when I say I played this game for as much as 16 hours a day, for the better part of... who knows, 3-4 years?  When I wasn't working I played nonstop, when I was working when I got off work I gathered my unemployed friends and brought them all over and played in the evenings.  Great times and great memories.

Jeremy Soule's soundtrack was amazing.  He also did the music for Guild Wars, another great game with great music.
