So I just decided to get a quick Platinum game or two in and hit the button to go to that league.  It's only when I start the match that I realise that I've forgotten to change my deck from my False God spin earlier today.  I'm now left with a Dragonbow which is deeply unsuited for the match-up I've got.  The deck I'm against is a bit of a slow-builder, but has enough Shards of Focus, Black Holes, Otys and creature HP buffs that I know I won't last once it gets into its stride.

I get lucky and draw a large number of Supernovas quickly enough to get a couple of Dragons out, and enough Quantum Towers to mean that the onslaught of Black Holes are recoverable from.  In that manner, I get the AI's HP down to the point where I can win the next turn.  However, the AI has enough Otys which are large enough to eat all of my Dragons, and has the Shards it needs to destroy the Cloak hiding my Dragons.  It's the AI's turn and...it does nothing.  It could completely wipe me out and win, but instead it just sits there and hands me the win.

How about you guys?  Ever won a match you really shouldn't have because the AI decided not to make the move it would make 99% of the time?

Osiris does that sometimes... Has two shards of focus out, the (normally targeted) permanents are 1. sundial and 2. arsenic. So I have 1 Sundial and 1 Arsenic out. It destroys the sundial (as predicted) but then leaves the arsenic untouched, not destoying anything with the second SoFo (And leaving it at 1 HP). Still don't know why the AI is doing that, since most of the time, he destroys both.

In addition to excess quanta determining the odds of AI using an ability or not, it also has a bit of randomness programmed into it. In other words, when deciding whether to do something or not, even if all criteria are met, it will still sometimes decide not to do it.

So I was playing psiontal against a weird life/fire in Bronze. I have 4 psions out and others ready to play, but then the AI plays a jade shield. 4 turns of this and I'm just a turn away from losing, when the AI switches Jade with Fire shield!

I imagine the AI was like,  'I've attacked him for so long, let's attack his creatures for a bit.' ;)

Seriously though, the AI's replacing of the reflect shield is what makes Psiontal so awesome.

Sorry for necroing this old thread, but his was the newest of stupid things AI sometimes do thread.

So I was playing with Pdials in Plat and faced huge :time rainbow. He had Emphatic Bonds and Pharao (and other rainbow mosters) out, in other words more healing than my poison could ever make. He also had Mindgates and was mindgating my SoDiv's (had boosted his Hp about 240+) and then he mindgated some SoSac's and played them all at once, meaning his own healing killed him in 3 turns ;D
