The school in question actually happens to be my school. What are your thoughts on it.

Seems fine to me. There were a lot of books we had to read in high school (and before that too) that just weren't interesting at all. You really can't teach stuff like that if students don't want to learn about it or through it. They'll just regurgitate what their teacher told them and what they read on spark notes for the test and then forget about it at the end of the semester. That's not learning.

I agree with Demagog but what level is this Highschool?  Also what are you learning about the Simpson's in elementary school we used clips to learn what NOT to do

what level is this Highschool? 
Well the students that learn it are aged 12-13.

Also what are you learning about the Simpson's
They learn about media studies, different types of comedy, how language is used effectively, etc.

Simpsons also has a lot of satire, and some deeper meanings.
Theres an old story by Edgar Allen Poe (Feel like i messed up his name..) About a murder, and the guy keeps hearing his heart.
The same kind of story happens to Bart, except its the head of a statue.

I don't see a problem I bet a lot of the parents that signed that petition let their on kids watch the Simpson's at home.
