I have tested this deck and i got three times in a row EM ... With the Mark you can get a Antimatter at least every 6 turns out. This was enough for me. I agree that shards my be a good opinion.
It's good that your deck works for you. Just wondering, have you ever tried the unupgraded deck posted in this topic? Personally, I'll stick with that one (along with whatever upgrades I have with it) because I'm more comfortable with the Entropy balance in that one.

funplay's deck doesn't look too shabby either, though. I might give that one a go next time.

A modified version of the CCYB deck works really well here.  Getting a shield early is critical; mirror shields rather than jades in case you don't manage to get 7 :life work well, and then you can throw down the jade when you draw it or can afford it to provide a bit more protection from the Eagle Eyes.

Protect artifact makes sure you have a pulverizer to take out his fire buckler or it will take out your lava destroyers; it's also useful early if you don't have a shield or are in a position to snipe an EE or limit his quantum.  Otherwise, you just have to make sure you can bait the explosions; there are only four and you've got plenty of bait, plus a back up just in case.  Might want to throw in a heal to make EMs easier, but overall this works really well for me.

I don't know how well it'll work unupgraded, but so long as you have the supernovas and shards you should do almost as well.  In any event, you'll probably want to build to the CCYB deck eventually if you don't have it, so nothing's wasted, really.

Aktually i think this is better against octane: EM it every time ...

Just play lava destroyer + quint when he doesn have his shield up. use explosions on his shield. Antimater his flying weapons ... phoenix for absorb his firebolts. Healing for EM. Works extremely well! Works unupped i think ... (Supernovas should be upped)
Just used this deck on him, and it worked wonderfully! I had a reflective shield in my first draw, and that pretty much sealed the deal. No EM or Card though because after the first AM either he got smart and new I had a bunch of AMs in my hand or he had no Animate Weapons

I'm not saying I found the perfect deck. Cause I'm just using a modified CCYB. But this must be the most clean Octane kill ever :D
Only thing he did was pump out fire shields fast and explode one of my pulvies, that got me worried but I just waited to protect the next with an hourglass.

I got a rustler pet from the oracle, wich allowed me a Jadeshield 2nd turn! I didn't eat a single UG. Aflatoxin and my first Antimater followed shortly after.

Perfect :D

That is impossible. On every 2 first spins you get 5 extra coins, so with 3 that is 15 :electrum, and assuming you got EM you got 135 coins ;)

I had 130 before the spin because I threw in a SoD. :3

I feel that the unupped deck in the OP might need one or two more creatures to draw out the fire bolts. I just deckout octane with it by ONE TURN  :o. I was sweating at the end! Just a suggestion.

I just beat Octane with the Morning Star semi-upgraded only pillars and un-upped pends and came out pretty good. Almost got EM, but didn't get enough antimatters in time. This is why life is probably a little better with both antimatter and adrenaline.

Just watch when Octane learns to sniping its own antimattered creatures.

I can attest to that; I just used this deck and won with an EM. :)
