New FG: Octane

Jangoo, that advice was simply the most incoherent, baffling, and utterly bizarre thing I've read on this forum...ever.

"Lobo(timize) his <permanent>..."  <-- this is impossible.
"...before you Animate <a non-weapon permanent>."  <-- this is also impossible.

"If Octane explodes YOUR...[Unstable] Gasses"  <-- this will probably actually happen.
"Try and eat <a permanent>" <-- this is also impossible
"before they explode" <-- it's impossible to eat something in between the time that an enemy plays a card and the time that that card takes effect.

"Do not <do an impossible thing>"  <-- this is useless advice because you're advising someone not to do something they couldn't ever do in the first place

"Try and wait until he lobo[timize]s first" <-- Impossible unless Octane also has Aether and Lobotomizers.

Now let me rephrase:

1) Steal his Unstable Gasses before he sets them off.
2) Once you've stolen them, set them off immediately to prevent him from Exploding them.
3) Don't waste your permanent control on Octane's Eagle Eye's; wait until he Animates them and then eat or Lobotomize them.


Is that better?

he also seems to have reviewed it seven minutes later, edited it, and then still left it making zero sense...

i'm already running two pulvys in my fg farming deck, so i don't think octane will be that bad. haven't played him yet though.

He's right about the mirror shield though- it reflects the explosions, and if you can do that, this god is easy.  A reflect shield vs. Octane is practically as good as fire buckler vs. Divine Glory was when his weapons only had 1hp.

Well, i had no chance against Octane, i haven't had enough time to get my mirroshield.
6 Eagles, 6 Fire Lances, 4 Explosions and 5 Unstable gases.
This was it:)
Eternity was helpful to spinn his animated eagles back, but it made my dying only longer....

I didn't even know there was an Unstable EEs FG deck until today when I spun him. :-(  I hope i can make a deck scary enough to be an FG.

Rofl, Well Since the oracle told me i was going to fight Octane, I specialized my rainbow, adding two reflective shields and a Jade Shield. I had an early reflective shield and most of my creatures were killed. I didn't have my pulvy when it drew a fire buckler so I stole it and covered it with a reflective shield the same turn. I won on the last turn with 220 Hp (6 SoDs) and EMed for 180 Electrum. Thx all!

Yeah, having it tell you you'll fight octane next makes it even easier than DG used to be, because you don't even need PA for your shield
