If anything should, Anubis needs a cost buff, or Quintessence should receive a cost nerf, or both.

What about poor Aether Nymph then?

I used the example of Anubis since it's good in it's own way (giving immortality to a lot of creatures, at a severe cost of speed).

Aether Nymph sucks.
Anubis is duo and costful.

Thats because your card doesn't address the issue at hand.
You need to be able to have immortal creatures that are quite relatively safe.
The issue is that some of the methods are too expensive and some are too cheap.

Of the 6 decks I have that use aether (3 rainbows and 3 duos), only 1 uses quints. I just don't think it's that overpowered. It only benefits your deck when you have specific creatures you need to stay alive (probably that you only included 1 or 2 of in your deck), and you need to get both that creature and the quint card before you can begin that strategy. It's a hassle to use for a really useful benefit, when played properly. I think it's perfectly balanced, and I don't think it's at all overused.

At the risk of recursion (my sig), the problem is not the card itself but the ability granted by it.
Unless thorn carapace + sundial is stronger, then no go.
On that note, perhaps a shield with "If the creature has 5+ health, poison it" would take down phase dragons quickly, while leaving immortals all good
Now that I think about it, that would be an excellent card to see, helps the little critters. Is easily countered by voodoo dolls with damage, swarms, etc.

Well, I'd rather see real counter to Quint than nerf of the spell card. Shields are terribly passive and slow way of dealing with quinted creatures, or are useless against creatures with 0-2 attack (depending on the shield) and momentumed creatures.
possibly more some for example hope will totaly anihalate an inmortal or even a diamond shield can spit in most inmortals faces

Quint basically makes the HP of a creature more or less redundant. Its cheap, and it makes the creature unkillable most of the time, making it absurdly strong for creatures with deadly abilities. Maybe make this card last for 5 turns or something, so that the creature would still eventually be killable?

here is what should happen a one turn delay between playing the creature and being able to immortal it no mater what method except for the dragon which is immortal by default.  i mean you can never really use a creatures skill till one turn later either so why should quint be any different. or Anubis immortalizetion in fact make all modifiers on a one turn delay.

Well, here's my attempt at immortality-removal card, as part of card design challenge.

Materialize | Materialize (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,13886.0.html)
Not to toot my own horn, but I thought maybe if I made it affect the whole field (avoiding having to target untargetable cards and all that nightmare) and have it last only for turn, it would be balanced at high cost. Even added momentums to affected creatures, so that even immortality-heavy decks can find a use for it breaking through shields or something. I guess it could also have been a stat increase though, since momentum is gravity's thing.
