I've always found it so absurd that people with little to no PvP experience claim to know which cards should be buffed or nerfed. What are you basing this on, hypothetical PvP matches that you've never actually played? Or worse, matches against an AI opponent with drastically less skill and completely different decks than a PvP opponent? The fact of the matter is that the very best way to determine the power of a card is to see how well it performs at the top levels of PvP. As someone with quite a lot of experience in that area, I can assure you that Discord is one of the centralizing cards in the metagame. You can create fantasies in your head all you want, but when it comes to actual duels, Mono Entropy and Rainbow Disquake are popular decks with high win rates, both centered around using 3-4 Discords. And of course, people will say, "Root, Team Entropy didn't actually win the previous war!" And the reason for that is because Discord, like literally any other card in the game, is not as effective if you know that it's coming. Fire and Aether have done better in War because they have a lot of different powerful strategies, while Entropy is more of a one-trick-pony. Doesn't mean that pony isn't going to stomp all over your grave if you don't see it coming.
Furthermore, there's one issue that nobody has even thought about, and that's whether or not Discord is a positive influence on the metagame. It is very weak against a few decks, and highly powerful against the rest. Does that sound like a well-designed card? People compare it to Black Hole and Rain of Fire, but those cards don't even come close. Stop and think about what the ideal metagame should be like. What percentage of the decks should be Rainbows? What percentage should be Fractal decks? If you want Rainbows to be equally as popular as Monos and Duos, you're going to have a very boring metagame, because there are drastically more different viable Mono/Duo deck archetypes than their are Rainbows. So, if you think that it's reasonable for Discord to be just as powerful against Monos and Duos as Black Hole is against Rainbows, then you're asking for a really boring metagame. As for Rain of Fire, it counters a single card - Fractal. By comparison, Discord counters an entire type of deck, in particular, one that would ideally make up most of the metagame. Really, which do you think is more impactful? By the way, Discord is probably stronger against Monos and Duos than Black Hole is against Rainbows.
Honestly, I don't even like posting in this section anymore, because there's just way too much misinformation, which annoys me. I just came because there were chat accusations that Spike was being mean, or something like that. But Spike has simply been correcting misinformation, and if that hurts people's feelings, then so be it.
Now, can we finally get around to deleting this forum section?
