Nerf that doesn't ruin discord: Have it shuffle each quanta individually. ie allow it to shuffle the same quantum multiple times. This is the accidental nerf which occurred in oetg since Calindu claimed that that's how the shuffling worked

It doesn't do that now? I didn't know!
I actually approve of this nerf, could be interesting without drastically changing the meta.

The problem is:
- if you up the cost, it's useless since Discord is only effective if popped in the first turns.
- if you lower quanta swap, it's useless since opponent will out-pillar its power
Also, Discord can lock you out for maybe 2-3 turns. Then you outproduce it and/or it starts converting quanta you don't care about.

I don't even use discord, but it's not OP at all. If discord makes you lose, your deck is garbage.

I am hurt by your words falcon. Useless quanta conversion can easily be avoided by using BH with Discord, it gets rid of excess quanta so Discord can keep it's affect on the main problem. (This is why gravity and entropy work best with eachother.)

I'm only going to address this.

So discord makes pretty much all monos and duos garbage? I find that hilarious. It is just so wrong...  No, i'm not  calling it a 100% win against them, not by any means. However, an extra 2+ turns, can be as many as 5 if they got a remotely bad draw, can easily turn the game in favor of the deck with discord. One card having that much of an effect on games isn't overpowered now? Guess freedom isn't overpowered, or focus either. Both of which people know to be false.

Discord is probably one of the strongest weapon in the game. Cheap, average damage and can lock out your play; and those 2-3 turns that you said can make the difference between win or lose, above all in upgraded metagame.

I play solely mono and duo. Over 3000 games, I haven't lost solely due to discord more than a dozen times (mainly when combined with Pests/Black Hole).
Discord alone gives you 1-3 turns depending on how bad your luck is, but after those you can ignore it for the rest of the game.

Not to mention, sometimes Discord actually HELPS you.
Say you're playing mono or / and Discord gives you to burrow / stone form. That's a boon.
Or again, you're playing Duo and you're getting too much of one quanta and too little of the other, and Discord evens it out.
And again, discord doesn't work if Miss. Other weapons like Eagle, Titan, Pulvy, Lobo or Eternity still do.

So I don't think there is any ground to the claims it's OP, unless we're talking about say decks that rely on the mark for one color (i.e. SoB Air Rush), but in that case even one Devourer can do the same effect so it's deck's own weakness rather than counter's OPness.

Disagree completely.

Eternity is 2000 times more powerful than Discord will ever be.
Pulvy, Lobo, and Eagle too. Hell I'd take a VDag over it. Trident too.
Discord is pretty below-average compared to other weapons, if enemy plays any of the above I would remove it, but discord? I don't even waste the PC for it.

Can eternity win you an entire game? Yes.
Pulvy? Yes.
Lobo? Yes.
Eagle? Yes.
Trident? Yes.
Vdag? Seldom, but can.
Discord? Rarely.

If Discord needs nerf then the above needs ultra nerfs if not removal from the game. Come on.

Punching your keyboard as a way to blow some steam is not a very good idea! (is that what happened?)

BTW, we all recognize that the advantage given by Discord is situational and not absolute. It seems that we all agree that nerfing this weapon would practically kill its usefulness, hence there is truly no way out from this dilemma.

I mostly use Mono or Duos when farming and Discord in combination with other cards is an automatic loss to me (BH, SoFo, EQ...); I'll deal with it.

@Falconian: stating that if a deck loses due to the presence of any card is garbage is a tad bit too extreme. There is always the card or the combination that can kill your deck, no matter what strategy you created. Bring me a deck that can win against everything and I will agree with you, but we both know there is no such thing.

Agreed, my statement was more of a hyperbole, to say "if you still lose to Discord maybe you need a better deck/upgrades".
Basically, a deck that loses over discord would also lose to BH, EQ, pests, Trident etc for the same reasons... but that doesn't mean all these things are "overpowered" (well maybe EQ lol), it just means your deck is very susceptible to quanta denial.

In particular, about this card:

- Discord is so weak that is usually one of the most banned cards in Trials.
- Everyone, with a little bit of experience can tell you how discord is a strong weapon.
- The poll above speaks pretty clear (19 votes for OP, 30 votes for balanced, 1 vote for UP).

If you say you keep winning with monos and duos vs discord it is very likely the discord deck that is the bad one. Same thing with losing 2-3 turns and still coming on top.

Are you playing vs AI3/bronze or vs PvP/harder AIs?

There is also a difference in impact depending if your deck is a stall, rush, control etc. or if you just build ludicrously overquanta'd decks.

Sure, Discord might be very effective situationally (as with many other cards), but it definitely isn't a deal breaker against the vast majority of decks.
As I said earlier, if Discord is OP then what about things like Eternity or Earthquake?
There are much worse threats out there.
