Lobo deals with:
SoFo
Adrenastaffs
Crusaders (Team Life uses them with Staffs and Mito, others use Vader Sader, some use Pulvysader and Titansader)
Momentum
FFQ, Pharaoh and Mitosis for Bonds
Mitosis for building damage until you draw PC
Psion
Sapphire/Elite Charger

All of these except SoFo are related to different deck archetypes in War that are viable (some are strong) and are therefore a factor you cannot ignore. I'm sure I've forgotten a few.

The biggest thing to consider here is that countering certain cards isn't the problem; the problem is the amount of decks you counter. By countering Sader you're dealing with a minimum of 4 decks at once, which cuts a hole in team vaults. Some of them can mitigate the problem with Animate Weapon, although Titansader would have to also pack Catapult at which point draws become iffy (especially if against a reasonably fast deck with Lobo).

By countering FFQ, Pharaoh and Mito you're removing several decks associated with Pharaoh, several decks associated with FFQ and at least one deck related to Mito+Bond stalling.

By countering Momentum you're more dealing with a support card that would in most cases be replaced with PC if against an Aether duo/mono. An exception is Life's Adrenastaff with Momentum.

In many cases you can destroy these decks with just Lobo and a rush, however Dims will enable a complete hard counter that makes it almost impossible to lose in these cases.

I believe it was frozengaiasomeone who once said in chat that Lobotomizer and Morning Glory should switch elements. I understand the rationale behind both placements, and thematically it makes sense, but from a balance perspective I think a Light Lobo and Aether MG would be better. Dim Shield wouldn't be as powerful and Light would gain some CC. That raises the question of what would the ability cost of Lobo be, and how effective it would be at balancing it. Keeping it 2|1 would force a duo, which could hinder the effectiveness of mono Lights, make Aether more heavily used in duos rather than monos, invalidate a LOT of existing decks, like the FG Divine Glory, and probably a lot of other unforeseen problems. I leave it to the pros to argue about it, because as my profile says, I'm a n00b, but I thought it was an interesting idea to consider.
If this has already been brought up, I apologize because I'm much too lazy to read through 55 pages.

If I was to put lobo in another element, it would be entropy or gravity.

I do agree that Lobo in element with Aether is too powerful. An element swap would benefit it, or a new weapon for aether and forget Lobotomizer.

This would make Aether even more powerful... please don't do this. Especially, since Discord is clearly about randomness and matches with .
Changing weapons with Light seems better, but Morning Star + AW + SoW might still be very strong in a mono, even with more combo cards than usual SoW-MA.

As others have said, it wouldn't fit in the least, thematically or balance wise. Aether does NOT need quanta control whatsoever. Implying it does in any way is insanity.
