Welcome to Elements, royalfishness and Zenith76.

As you've noticed, devourers are quite powerful, and, on the face of it, are capable of completely dominating the game.

As you get more experience, you'll see that the most diabolical thing about Elements is that there are a LOT of cards which seem that way.  The amazing thing is that the many different cards, each of which individually seem game-breakingly overpowered, keep each other in check.  And that's what's so beautiful about Elements.

Yes, your enemy has a game-breakingly overpowered card.  But so do you.

A famous philosophical paradox asks:  what happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object?

In Elements, unstoppable forces hit immovable objects almost every single game.  And the answer to the paradox is:  an awesome game happens.

Maybe we should make a section of buff/nerf this card: Devourer/Pest.
This is already a thred to nerf devourer. A buff thread will get shot harder than the nerf thread. Suggesting Berfs though seems fair, and I think the only way it could get changed.

Yeah, you're right. For some reason, I thought this was an "Introduce yourself" topic and I was too lazy to look to the top of the topic window in order to see his directory. Anyway, Devourers may really need a change, but not because they are powerful; they need to be changed in a way that prevents them to be completely overused by beginners who fill PvP1 matches with mono-Darkness, Devourer-spam decks.

1. Newb in PvP1 is generally not smart enough to use decks effectively. They will use random decks most of the time.
2. The only reason to nerf a card is if it's OP, as the only reason to buff a card is if it's UP. Changing a card just because it's widely used will only break the balance.
