My opinion:
It's only OP if your enemy uses a rainbow deck. And rainbow decks are usually strong enough. They need a disadvantage.

Black hole is (was?) like purify. It is situational. Purify countered poison decks, black hole counters rainbows.

The problem is actually that mana is generated at the end of your turn; thus your opponent doing this can be a pretty serious timewalk.

Make it take 2-4 out of 6 elements instead, or perhaps just 24 total.

BH is overpowered right now specifically because of the cardpool in elementsthegame which is very small
in order to be successful in both PvE and PvP, you need to go rainbow
sure you can say SOME mono have been successful (i.e. life rush, graboid rush, golem rush etc) but you cant say the same for every mono...because of the cardpool, some elements are inherently better than the rest

purify is the counter to poison rush is similar to BH to rainbow? give me a break

This is a grossly false statement.

I have mono :air, mono :light, and mono :water, mono :gravity, :death / :aether, :life / :gravity, :entropy / :gravity decks that are all quite effective at PvP and PvE.  This is in addition to the standard fare of mono :fire, mono :earth, and mono :life.

Pretty much every one of my decks, PvP or PvE, is a mono deck with a few duo's thrown in there for good measure.  I only use a rainbow for fg farming, and I only have about 400 fg wins out of ~ 9200 total.

You can be plenty successful in this game without ever using a rainbow deck, you just have to open up your thinking and be creative.

To get back on topic, all the mono and duo decks I use would barely be phased by a black hole.  A life rush will beat a black hole deck every time as black hole is essentially a wasted card in this case.  Black hole is strong against rainbows, but that is by design.  If you are scared of black hole, switch to a mono deck.

Black Hole is overpowered against rainbows, and that it is bad design.  Any time you have a counter card that is designed to specifically shut down a particular strategy it just contributes to rock-paper-scissors style gameplay.

There's a lot of paper-rock-scissors gameplay in this game.  That's a big part of the way we the game is balanced.  In order for the game to be balanced, every strategy needs away it can be shut down.  Black hole fills this void for rainbows, while not being nearly as useful against mono and duo decks.

...but maybe plastiqe is suggesting that we have a more Paper-Rock-Scissors-Lizard-Spock gameplay! :P

Just to be clear, it's painfully obvious that Black Hole does next to nothing to mono decks. However, the synergy with Discord combined with the fact that Gravity Nymph + Discord can shut down ANY deck means that there is something wrong here (possibly not Immolation-based decks).
Agree.

So let's nerf Discord  :D

Anyway, everyone is OK to say that it's powerful againste Rainbow, and awful against others (except with Discord  ;) ).
So we've got :
Rainbow > Mono > Black Hole > Rainbow.
In PVP, there will be more and more a turn-over : peoples play a type of deck (deck A), so some guys will play a deck Bto counter this deck A. And at a moment, the deck B wil become the main deck. Until some guys etc.

And vs the AI, I don't know of a FG deck based on this card...

I have lots of SUCCESSFUL mono decks. Lots more exist.  The decks you listed are just old decks that work.  Experiment with cards a bit and you'll see plenty more mono decks that work than just these.
