As the title says what are the best genres of music in your opinion? Please don't fight I just feel like some people are going to fight. Also list valid reasons why you like a genre please. Also link to a song in the genre if allowed or naming a band would be good too.

Psytrance - Infected Mushroom - 9% (). Infected Mushroom - Poquito Mas () (best Psytrance artists in the world. the genre can put you in the zone like no other)
Power Metal - Demetori - Innumerable Eyes (). Demetori - Nuclear Fusion () (Gods of Metal. the genre can pump you up like no other).
SID Metal - Machinae Supremacy - Through the Looking Glass () (modern). Machinae Supremacy - Hero () (more classic). Machinae Supremacy - March of Undead Part II () (most classic). Machinae Supremacy - Trinity () (more melodic and epic. the genre can provoke incredible nostalgia and inspiration).
Rap/Funk Metal - Rage Against The Machine - Bulls on Parade () (these legends need no presentation; I'll just link one of my fav songs. the genre often makes you think for yourself a little).
Futurepop (not pop in any sense, just EBM/Industrial/Electronic) - VNV Nation - Chrome (). VNV Nation - Darkangel (). VNV Nation - Perpetual () (yes, the song that inspired this deck (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,14312.0.html). hearing it live was akin to a spiritual experience, and I'm atheist. the genre is inspirational and motivational like no other).
Electronica - Syrsa - Edmyron () (when I was a kid, I'd actually listen to Kraftwerk. that interest went on to stuff like Rave and later Futurepop, so it's kind of the base of it all. a lot of video game music falls into this category, which I listen to a lot. here's a pretty epic playlist as an example: http://vip.aersia.net/vip.swf)

Win. My number one favorite band/genre.

I like a lot of light melodic popish kind of electronic music. Foster the People, Two Door Cinema Club, Madeon, Passion Pit, The Naked and Famous, that kind of stuff.
Madeon - Que Veux Tu (k3s3A&lf=mh_lolz). A nice Madeon remix of a tune by French artist Yelle, who I also like.
Lights - Timing is Everything () You probably remember Lights' songs Saviour and The Listening. She retains her sweet pop-ish core in her new album, but hits harder with crunchier beats and some tasteful dubstep influences.
Foster the People - Helena Beat (k3s3A&lf=mh_lolz). You've all heard "Pumped Up Kicks" on the radio, but they got a tonne of good songs.
Crystal Castles - Baptism (k3s3A&lf=mh_lolz). Autotuned yelling and dissonant lofi hooks. It's charming, not just for its audacity, but for the fact that all of these grating elements come together to make something that sounds damn good.

I like doom metal, oldschool industrial metal, breakcore, grindcore, classical orchestra music, ambient and similar genres most.

Anything but the so-called "rap" thats played now. It's time is over, move on...

I feel like im alone in here, but i love classic rock, blues, jazz, certain metal songs and a little pop. I do enjoy electronic music once in a while. And some rap, disco, bah. I love every kind of music.
-
I'll listen to anything but very heavy screamo, "rap" that involves murdering, prostitution, etc. or an excessive amount of country (all songs are fine but i cant listen to more than 3-4 consecutivly.)
The ones I like best are Blues, Jazz, classic rock (and most variations of rock), and whatever I grew up listening to. Favorite Band is probably the Blues Brothers or AC/DC

Well, I guess it's up to each one, but what would define a "best" genre of music?? I can't even imagine what I should take in account. If the question was about which ones I like the most, I could have an answer, but as it is now, I value every music genre equally.
That said, there are some genres that tend to have less "musical" songs, while being more about selling disks and stuff. Most known one is pop. I reckon it as a gender as equally as the rest, since I know (you know, not personally) some good pop musicians. But then there they come, Disney's pop "musicians" (IDK if all of them suck, but most of them do, and I'm definetly not including Phil Collins in that list)... well, that kind of people give bad names to some genres.
I sincerely can't choose a "best" genre. I like rock n' roll, mostly some old-ish/blues-ish songs, and sometimes something more melodic (see pop), or those metal "instrumentals" or whatever, where you can more easily appreciate the music behind the loud sound of the metal (you can do it nontheless, but I find it quite hard).

Just about everything. I started with classical (probably still my favorite genre) but eventually:
1. Was researching weird time signatures and found Take Five by Dave Brubeck which got me into jazz.
2. Playing the game Particles, I absolutely loved the music - Twilight Techno by Dimrain47 - and eventually started listening to trance quite a lot.
3. In between all of the dull music at a high school dance, I heard the noticeably better Sandstorm by Darude and started on techno.
4. After someone decided to put Survivor's Eye of the Tiger on at a party, I looked it up and discovered the awesomeness that is rock.
5. I heard Raise Your Glass by P!nk on the radio and started to appreciate pop.
6. Going through the Top 50, heard the country song If I Die Young by the Band Perry, search, replay x5.
7. One day when I was feeling very gloomy, I heard Evanescence's Bring Me to Life which not only made me feel way better, but sent me into metal.
I can even appreciate rap on occasion. Written in the Stars, anyone? The only music I categorically dislike is anything with a ton of swearing or extreme heavy metal.

70s and 80s rock and metal kind of music, best era for music ever IMO.
EDIT: sleaze metal is good too.

Eurobeat! Or at least the stuff that this guy has done... (http://www.youtube.com/user/OdysseyEurobeat?feature=watch)

My first favorite is definitely Beatles genre music, such as this, or anything similar to it:
Another genre I enjoy is Classic Rock, from sixties to eighties, which includes songs like this:
My last would be Soft 80's, not sure how to describe it, yet songs like this:
