My music quest before the end of 2018

i decided to start a sort of quest for trying to discover more music genres (or subgenres), so i decided to use rate your music to find the best albums of the year for almost every genere/subgenere possible and try to listen them all before the end of the year

about rate your music/rym: it's a site mainly for keeping track of what you listen, then u can rate the album and next step is write a review; the userbase seems to be very well mixed so the charts are decently accurate

I don't know much about music and I haven't heard of any of these bands, but I'll check out the ones in the first two categories if I can find them on Spotify or whatever.  (your 3rd category genres I'm not into, sorry :p)

Powerwolf - (Spotify) Listened to the first couple songs.  They're alright, but don't really stand out to me.  Fairly generic average metal, IMO.
Seventh Wonder - (Spotify) They sound kind of similar to Powerwolf.

I love Sleep and TesseracT, but while seventh wonder is decent, they don't represent prog very well. Too similar to power metal.
Periphery, Haken and Animals as Leaders would be a better fit I think.

And you can't talk about stoner metal without mentioning Mastodon!
