Title: i need help with fl studio 9.1
Post by: tyranim on March 21, 2012, 02:22:43 am
i JUST downloaded fl studio v 9.1 and i have almost no idea how to use it. i tend to avoid the "help' buttons because most of the time they just confuse me moar. all ive managed to do so far was make a beat with kick, snare, hats, and claps (the most basic sh** if you ask me)
idk how to switch the keyboard to do chords or how to change the cords or nothing. i REALLY want to start making some music asap... mostly because its part of my senior institute project... can anybody who knows what they are doing help me out?

yeah, ive been playing around with it a bit and i found out about the instruments  and stuff, but i still cant find the chords for techno and stuff. and i mean the good ones, not the ones i would only use in one song out of 100. THOSE, i can make myself.
also, how do i use the select window thing. you know, when you drag the mouse over the thing'S you want to select. how to copy them, etc. the basics.... that i still cant find out

Why can't you make all the chords? As for doing things like copy/paste, if you've selected the items in a selection box, then shouldn't the appropriate commands be under the Edit menu? Have you tried the obvious keyboard short-cuts, like Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V?

Sorry that I'm not much help, I don't actually use FL Studios, so you just have to sit tight and wait for someone with more experience to happen across this thread.

yeah, i found out that i had the demo version, so i ditched p.1 and went with a cracked version of 8. but i heard the hotkeys and stuff are the same. and i found out that to select them all, i have to hold ctrl+mouse drag, and to copy the selected notes i have to hold shift and drag the selected notes to my desired location. its facepalmingly simple, but it took me 4 hours to figure out (THANK YOU youtube). thanks for the effort though, and no, the ctrl+c stuff doesnt work.
