I don't know if this should be in a different thread, but: What makes music so powerful? It can change people's moods, inspire people to do great things, keeps people focused, but also has made people go crazy.

Movies have impacted people, but in my view, music has done so stronger in the above categories. Thoughts?

Note: If you could, please make all posts a spoiler  ;)

Spoiler for :
I have no idea why you want spoilers, but I guess I'll go along with it. I myself personally aren't a really musical person, so I can't really say. As to why music can be so powerful, I'm not sure it's more powerful than other forms of media, but if we assume that they are indeed more powerful than movies, I'd have to say it's probably because of the history. The history of music is much longer than movies or other forms of media.

What about this: recorded music is like saving a person's emotional moment in a sense in an audio file right? Something you can re-live. Do you think re-living other people's 'moments' has anything to do with it?

As for history: music being recorded started at first in 1857 and movie recording happened in the 1920's. The reason recording is important in my mind is that you can relive the moment.

Before: people could sing/play instruments and people would hear, but also people could do plays people would see, but neither one could be relived until we had recording devices and both recording devices came about within 70s of each other.
