Really, anything that breathes and makes metal music. I've recently been binge-listening Children of Bodom though, specifically some of their metal-covers of other music.

I've heard of them, but never listened. Any of the more popular bands?

It depends on my mood. If I'm in an angry, or bad mood generally, its stuff like this.

If I'm in a sad/depressed mood, it's normally the same type. I listen to rap, as well. Basically, I listen to everything except country and EDM.

Okay. I really couldn't be bothered to reply to everybody, but you guys are amazing! I actually didn't expect that many people to be into rock/metal!
Bands that come into mind for me are: Tool, Metallica, Slayer, Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold, Queens of the stone age, Godsmack, System of a down, Rise against, Bring Me The Horizon, Muse, Sleeping With Sirens, A Day to Remember. Many more as well!

I am also pretty into alt. rock, including indie rock.

Same! I listen to EDM here and there. Don' really like jazz (very fun to play) along with classical. I am so suprised to hear that I have almost the same music taste as somebody!

My mother regularly listens to things like Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, U2, Metallica, Deep Purple, so I'm used to it and do like it a bit.

Apart from that, Nightcore of various different things. I like Trance, and everyone should know by now I do regularly listen to J-Pop and J-Rock. I do listen to some Country and Grunge at times. Not big on Pop, but I do listen to it almost regularly. I'm not too fond of Dubstep, but I do have some songs and a few artists I follow and listen to. I listen to some Folk now and then. I've got a few songs I like from both Screamo and Emocore, too.

Then I met Nirvana.
After what I listened to pretty much all kinds of metal including even some black bands like Dimmu Borgir and Burzum, alternative bands like Tool and System of a Down, pagan metal etc,melodic Death like Scar Symmetry (I really loved them, before they changed the vocal in 2008),metalcore  ; beer metal (Korpiklaani), and even to strange things like Xasthur: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZOpIhVkWFo
 and a lot of Slipknot
and after that I got  deep into Doom and depressive metal metal: Swallow the sun, Insomnium, Black sun Aether, ,The Foreshadowing, Elend, Katatonia

Nowadays I'm back to Doom and depressive.

Heavy metal is my LEAST favorite genre along with rap, polka and dubstep. I like I little bit of pop, very small amounts of techno, one rock song and a few other stuff I don't need to mention.
