BTW, wouldn't it be interesting to place a sticky with a link to this thread in the Multilingual section? Otherwise people with the most interest in this might miss it.
That's a great idea. I should have posted this topic there in the first place.

Topic moved.

Even though my understanding of English is as good as if it was my main language, i'm still voting for yes. i have some friends who understand the game (i explained it to them, it's actually pretty simple.) but could not really understand most things on the forum, like strategies, competition rules, etc.

Although I think #2 should be best for Multilingual things, I fall under #3. (Kinda useless option, BTW)

I've always loved the idea of expanding the language component of this forum and I believe some already know it. I can help out the Spanish section and would love to help expanding the game in any way possible.

Languages are not only a string of words but are keys to peoples. This forum has always been one of the best ones I've encountered, and I can say that to advance in this area is to take another great stride in the right direction, for the forum and Elements the Game.

EDIT: Also, I voted #2. Expanding the forum ftw!! And yes, given the chance, I would help.

SPANISH.

No me afecta. El inglés es mi lengua materna.

My written Spanish is not up to par with my verbal Spanish, however this is, as far as I know, pretty darn accurate. If anyone could correct my written Spanish, I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you.

I would normally edit my post but felt this time that this thread deserved a bump. This is aside from the fact that this post is taking things from a whole new perspective.

The multilingual section has been on my mind lately and one main concerned has arisen. I do not speak many languages but can understand a varying amount of quite a few and have noticed that in the respective and separate multilingual sections people have gained or may gain a sense of comfort.

What is this sense of comfort you may ask? It's a level of comfort knowing that in these sections moderators and staff may not understand them and let what's posted fly by under the radar. This permits the rules, in a sense, to be bent in certain ways, posting at times what would be called offensive were it translated into English. The communities may also gain a certain level of trust in each of its members allowing information to be posted that one may not want to share with the community at large. This information may be invaluable when it comes time to selecting the best members to participate in the next Council, as Master of an element, etc.

This brings me back to an idea I posted a long time ago, Ambassadors (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9968.0.html). The realm of languages is a wide and varied one. Where knowing a languages is a metaphorical key, not knowing one is a brick wall. Ambassadors would be the --trusted-- members of the community to help translate and supervise these areas.

With the notion that a more complex Multilingual section may be in the works in a near future, staff should be careful and wary of the ramifications should a Multilingual section remain unsupervised. Ambassadors, whether it be 1, 3 or 5, I believe would be a step in the right direction, to protect, aid, and better the forum which we have all grown to love.

I support the idea of Ambassadors. Knowing who you'll call if you need to communicate is always a good idea, especially for important announcements.

However, Ambassadors are not exactly translators... but they can organize a lot of useful translation-related stuff.
Went AWOL. No reason.
Now silent. May return.

¿Qué? Yo no entiendo?

But srlsy though, language-split forums were never good. If you can't speak English, it's time to get your school backpack on.

Yes, a French section please!
I like to understand all the subtleties of a game, but for this one I'm completely lost  :))
With one post it seems to be "bonjour, je suis là !" every 6 month, that's not enough ;)
I precise that I met a couple of French player in PvP (thanks to my French pseudo!), so I think there is enough people to make something "prosperous" (="vivant"?).

The game is fully in English, so people who don't speak any English word won't stay on the game for a long time ...

Maybe we (you?) should authorize to make tutorials or whatever about the game in the multilingual section, and then you (we?) will see witch language should have an entire section. :)

Although English is my native language, I speak German, Italian, and Spanish. It would be nice even for a native English speaker to come to the multilingual area and be able to go to a SECTION just for 1 specific language. I have always been tempted to go into the random posts I see that are titled Italiani or Deutsch etc.. but never do because there are too many similar threads.if it was broken into the sections by language this would allow me and any other to simply go to mulitilingual, pick a language and then find a topic under that language that I wish to enter instead of going through this mess it is now trying to find a topic that is inside of a topic labeled by a language/region. I don't get to use my language skills much anymore after college so if you don't use it you do tend to lose bits of it; so if it were separated I can see myself using this area to help stay with what I have learned.

I think that it was me that suggested this in a pm to Kael Hate and Scaredgirl:

"Hello, my name is Osanseviero and i am a kongregate player and a elements really old player. I love creating decks and lots of things and my main language is spanish. Yesterday, i created this blog linkremoved
Yeah, it is in spanish and in one day i already have 2 helpers and more than 50 readers hehe. Well, the google blogs capacities of creating are really limited. We would like you to give us a support by giving us one inside forum or a little help telling us how did you created this . Right now the multilingual forum is a chaos of french, arabic, japanise, spanish and 2 other mystery languages, i would like an official forum just for spanish or a section for each language

Thanks for your time and sorry for any spelling mistakes
Osan"

So I completely support this. Also, please put the first post also in spanish.
