This is no easy competition, either.  I have gone through about ten to fifteen different Round 1 deck concepts before I finally found one that I think will work through the whole round.
Indeed, I went through so many possible decks and roads.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

TStar vs. Spiraler

 :earth -->  :fire

Starting Deck
Code: [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 593 5oi 5oi 5oi
Game 1: LOSS
Amazing starting hand of 3 Nova and a Pendulum allowed for me to EQ his Darkness Pillars and play a Discord.  A few turns later I got a Graboid out and started whittling him down.  Unfortunately all the rest of the Graboids and my Flying Weapons were all buried in my final 10 cards.  Eventually he was able to get through the EQs to get an Abomination out and his Chaos Seed PU'd the Shrieker.  When the second Abomination finally dropped I knew it was over.

Game 2: WIN
Things worked out much better this time.  2nd turn EQ and Discord jacked up his quanta for quite awhile.  Got 2 Graboids out over the next few turns and then hit him with another EQ and flew a Discord to play another.  He didn't really have a chance.
Code: [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 593 5fa 5fa 5fa 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5giGame 3: WIN
Another fairly easy win due to some good luck.  Tons of quanta in the opening hand and an 9th card Nova let me play a 3rd turn Discord and EQ with a 4th turn Graboid.  With the glut of Pendulums I kept playing more and more Graboids until beating him down in 9 turns.  Never drew a Golem.
Code: [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 590 590 590 590 590 590 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5giGame 4: LOSS
Without the Discord, he was able to really get himself rolling.  I got 2 quick Graboids and a Golem, but his Chaos Seed wiped the golem out.  In the end his Purple Dragons were the difference as he outrushed me by 2hp.

Game 5: WIN
Pretty much just creature spammed him to death.  Got a quick Graboid pair and Golem, then starting dropping Phoenixs and it was over.  Pretty easy 9 turn win.
Code: [Select]

Careful with that, you have 1 too many phoenixes and 1 too little pends.

Not too big a problem, but next time use the +card -card method.

Be a bit more careful later.

If his plays were delayed 2 turns, I would've won, too. It was just about to get going.

No he doesnt. Not if he uses the earthquakes for the phoenix's + 1 card and then the discords for the pendulums + 1 card.

No he doesnt. Not if he uses the earthquakes for the phoenix's + 1 card and then the discords for the pendulums + 1 card.
-After this, you may choose to add or remove one card from a Cell. In this case, I might add another Emerald Pillar. Note that you cannot remove a card from a Size 1 Cell.
So yes he did. Players may only add OR remove one card after a win.
TStar removed one AND added another at the same time.
The legal change is +1 EQ after his first win, then -1 FireP after his second.

I couldn't find anything specific in the rules, but I believe you must use the same MARK through the entire round.

You can only change your mark at the end of the round (IE, your end deck). You never actually play with the new mark.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.
