OT: Might I suggest a Suggestions & Feedback thread, as to not clutter this thread?

I would like to see Deckbuilding separated into 2 forms, Arena/AI Deckbuilding and PvP Deckbuilding. They're different enough in theories that they warrant a split, IMO.

I apologize for the lack of movement in this section recently, I will get to it as soon as I recover from my illness. I've been unable to think straight or look at a computer screen for more than 30 minutes at a time all weekend ^^;

There is new criteria for applying mentors. There are three sections that one can apply to mentor for. The sections and their criteria are:
  • PvP: Must have been involved in multiple PvP events and have achieved a top three placement in at least 3 (tournaments are included in this) Holding a PvP related staff position can substitute for the placement in events, though involvement is still a requirement.
  • Deckbuilding: There will be two different types of mentors for this section
    • PvP: Mentors for this section must be involved in PvP Events and have placed well in them. They must have something to show for their PvP accomplishments, like forum trophies or BL logs.
    • AI/Arena: Mentors for this section must be experienced at EtG and have an arena deck level of 50 or higher
  • CIA: Mentors for this section must be active in the CIA section of the forums, both posting their own ideas as well as giving feedback on the ideas of other members.
  • Forums Expert: Anyone applying to mentor in this section must have posts in at least 3 different sections of the forums and know said sections like the back of their hand.They also must have been an active member of the community and have at least 200 posts on the forums. Should have decent knowledge of BB code.
If you are planning to apply to become a mentor, make sure to read over the criteria for the section you would like to apply for.

Disagreeing with the BL qualification for PvP deckbuilding. It's really simple to just find a deck compilation and place highly.

How often does somebody find a compilation and then also show high involvement? BL certainly shouldn't be the only factor a mentor should have, but I think it still serves decently as a qualification. Also, we're not talking like 20 games in a season, right? Placing with the minimum shouldn't count, sure. But I think high activity in BL (across multiple seasons) should be considered.

I'm assuming their games played would be a factor, yeah.

You guys are right, the restrictions do need to be stricter for the PvP deckbuilding mentors. This was just a quick rough outline of what the criteria would be so that I could spark some discussion. I will work on fine tuning and improving them when I get home from school

    • AI/Arena: Mentors for this section must be experienced at EtG and have an arena deck level of 50 or higher
  • CIA: Mentors for this section must be active in the CIA section of the forums, both posting their own ideas as well as giving feedback on the ideas of other members.

Here's another update on the criteria, let me know how you guys feel about this

Looking back, CIA criteria is a bit too lenient, since you can be active, but not skilled enough to mentor someone in that field. Perhaps something about cards that have entered Forge/Crucible?
