Lost Temple - Rules
Original idea by: RavingRabbid   |   Developed by: RavingRabbid & Jenkar

Try to escape from a temple you never got in, making other players get squished by a giant boulder.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
First read the rules. THE RULES, I said.
Sign up by posting on Sign-Up topic.

2. RUN AWAY FROM THE BOULDER!
Someone among you greedy people stole the Golden Idol from the temple, and triggered a trap. This temple has been forgotten for a long long time, and there are a lot of weird things going on.

The boulder starts on tile 0. All the players start on tile 4.
The Boulder moves 2 tiles, 4 tiles if the closest player is more than 4 tiles away.
The boulder doesn't care who you are, it is a boulder. But you are going to make an awesome sound when squished. Be happy about it.

3. SURVIVAL
If you get squished by the boulder, you lose.
You get to fight for survival with the player that's closest to you. If there are an odd-number of players left, a random player will not fight and advance a number of tiles equal to how many the Boulder moves. The organizer will obviously rig RNG so that same players aren't likely to face many many times, and that no player will get a bye twice (unless unavoidable).

4.0 BASIC DECKBUILDING RULES
  • 6 basic upgrades
  • Quantum Pillars and Shards are banned.
  • You can use 5 more upgrades if you have the idol, but you must have a minimum of 34 cards. You can use a smaller deck, but that would mean you lose access to the idol bonus.
  • If an unupgraded card is allowed, so is the upgraded.
  • IGNORANCE IS NOT ALLOWED
  • You can only use cards from elements you and your opponent choose and the tile you (single you, not both you) are standing on. (See 5.1)

4.1 ELEMENTAL DECKBUILDING RULES

Depending on element you sent to organiser (see 5.1):

:aether: You can use 2 extra upgrades on Aether cards.
:air: You can use 3 extra upgrades on Airborne creatures.
:darkness: You can use 3 extra copies of your opponent's chosen element upped.
:death: You can use 3 extra copies of poisonous cards upped (Poisonous cards: Toadfish, Virus, Poison, Arsenic, Deathstalker, Scorpion, Thorn Carapace, Chrysaora, Dune Scorpion, Parasite, Aflatoxin, Grey Nymph, Plague).
:earth: You can use 4 pillars/pends upped.
:entropy: You can use 3 cards from elements that are not available to you.
:fire: You can use 2 extra upgrades.
:gravity: You can use 4 extra copies of creatures with 5 or more health upped (the creatures must have 5 or more health unupped).
:life: For every 3 creatures, you can use an extra upgrade.
:light: You can righteously deny your opponent of using extra upgrades from element chosen.
:time: For every two draw accelerating cards, you can use an extra upgrade AND must use one more card in your deck, only if you choose to use the upgrade (Draw accelerating cards: Golden Nymph, Precognition, Golden Hourglass, Sundial).
:water: You can use a pillar/pend and 2 non-pillar/pend cards upped.

5.1. PRE-DUEL
Send a PM to the host containing an element. If there are two identical elements to use, those people will have one less element available. Players have 1 day to send in elements. If they do not send in an element, it will be randomized.

5.2. DUELS
Players have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using PMs, pidgeons, whatever they can use, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players advance one tile, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. In that case, the duel is treated as 3-0.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual games, wins the match.

Decks may only be changed after the 2nd and the 4th game.

6.0 AFTER DUELS
Post results and decks in the Battle Results topic.

You will move 4 tiles if you win 3-0.
You will move 3 tiles if you win 3-1 or 3-2.
You will move 1 tile if you lost 2-3 or 1-3.
You won't move if you lost 0-3.
Plus eventual modifiers.
If your opponent had the idol and you won against him, you get the idol.

6.1 SPECIAL MOVEMENT RULES

Depending on which tile you are on:

:aether: If you lose against a non-aether tile opponent you move one additional tile, if you win against a non-aether tile opponent you move one less tile.
:air: If you win you can, once during any round, move any player back 1 tile during elements choosing phase (this won't get him insta-crushed by the boulder nor change his tile).
:darkness: After winning 3-0, teleport forward to the nearest player (At least a +1 bonus).
:death: If your opponent wins no games he will be sent back 2 tiles.
:earth: After the duel, you can set yourself back any number of tiles. You will be able to use three more upgrades per tile during the next battle.
:entropy: You will move a further distance randomly selected from the range +3 / -2.
:fire: If you win, the defeated opponent will be unable to choose three selected elements for next round.
:gravity: If you win, you will earn 3 extra upgrades for your next battle.
:life: If the player you just beat is about to die, you can spare him his life and move him the number of tiles he needs to survive. If he isn't about to die, move him back 1 tile.
:light: For every game won, you can use an extra upgrade during the match.
:time: Move three extra tiles if you correctly predict the results in the match. (You must win the match).
:water: If you are the first player to win two games either move an extra tile or use 4 more upgrades for the remainder of the match.

7. REWARDS
The one who, being the last elemental alive, escapes with the idol will receive an amazing award, an ICON!

simple yet great idea i only ask how long will the event be running can u provide us with a map is it just us running straight ahead also how far ahead of the boulder. or how far do we need to go to escape the temple do we have to have the idol to win or is it only for bonuses?
also what if we made somone play as the boulder so lets say ur 1-2 spaaces away and the boulders about to hit you and your gonna lose. the person would then get a small chace to evade the boulder or gets a final surge of energy just enought to keep them out of the boulders range. this should happen only once for free and the rest you have to fight the boulder who is a random player within the event or the host of the event. the thing is its really hard to stay away /dodge the boulder twice becasue by then you'll be exshausted so when ur fight the boulder for the first time they get 10 uped cards then 20 for the 2nd after the 2nd time you have no chance of evading and die. also the boulder should use 40 card decks and the runners/escapist should use 30-39 card decks since they have to be light on there feet to avoid the boulder?
The Devil what more is there to say.

Can haz crazy map. Definitely. Things like 'Stairs', 'trapdoors' and 'fluffy bunnies' could spell doom for any characters. I think this is a marvelous PvP idea. The way it eventually weeds down the, uh... Slower, participants, and then goes into a mad dash for the last 2 with the Idol on the line makes the game extremely appealing. Not quite as big as War, but VERY entertaining! I support this!
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

If the boulder gets to you, you die. It's a boulder, not a PvP boulder.

Also, the event could last a month and a half at full players.
The map is a nice idea, tho.

Hey, this looks fun. The theme is great.

I'd suggest making a list of cards where it is not 500% clear in 4.1, like Time or Death.
