Chapter 1: The Awakening
Always remember, Josh. You are not from this world. When you hear the wind calling your name, you must answer with your heart. "And that's it?" I asked.
"Yeah, it just... It just felt so real. And the creepy thing is that I've been hearing my name everywhere ever since I woke up." For the first time in a long time, Josh looked disturbed, or "out-of-his-element." Josh was the type of person who was always prepared for anything. If he were nervous, he would never show it. Until now.
"Just stop thinking about it, or you'll never finish copying my homework."
I tugged on the booklet, but Josh was quick and held it in place.
"Just another two sentences. Don't worry, I'll finish before homeroom en--"
"Josh!"
The shrieking voice came from nowhere, causing Josh to freeze his hand. His eyes were wide open, and I could see a single sweat-drop glisten in the sunlight before falling to his chin.
"Hey, don't you ignore me!" the voice continued. "Are too busy copying off Joey's homework to be able to fulfill your duties as the vice representative?"
Josh didn't reply, he just sat there, frozen in what looked like fear. The class representative--a tall girl with a ponytail of raven-black hair and large glasses--started feeling a little uncomfortable.
"C'mon, what are you doing being so scared for? Cat got your tongue?"
With a jerk, Josh came back to reality. "Uh, what? Oh yeah, the community service project. I'll plan it all out tomorrow."
"No, Josh, I want it planned today. If you haven't finished the designs by now, I expect you to help me with them this afternoon."
"This afternoon?" John glanced at me. "I have something very important to do this afternoon. What about tomorrow?"
to be continued...
