False God Lore https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=42825.msg534045#msg534045
« on: August 17, 2012, 06:46:48 am »
We've had RPs, Competitions, stories, and lots of grinding involving the False Gods - in short, the 29 bosses of the ETG world make up quite an interesting thematic part of the game and have much room for lore expansion.

This thread is for expanding upon the stories of the FGs. Feel free to anything about them - profiles, their backgrounds, short stories involving them here, all to flesh out who they are. If you're interested in writing lore for an OC False God, feel free to do so, but make sure they're kept within reasonable limts (e.g. you can use card ideas, but don't use crazy overpowered ones that weren't even submitted to the Crucible.) and that they relate to the original False Gods in some way.

With that, here's some recent stuff I wrote about False Gods for an RP by Legit :

Quote
Elemental Classification : False God
Used to a classify 29  semi-deitic elementals and 1 'honorary member' with their properties, the False Gods are a loosely defined 'group' of powerful entities whose dominant elements give them massive power and control over the world of magic, possibly even more than some of the weaker rulers of the Elemental Realms.  While they are usually skilled in a certain element(s), their elemental composition (and by extension, spellcasting skill) consists of a large amount of all 12 elements and possibly even more than the core twelve. Despite this, they are content to serve as the wardens and caretakers of the realms, acting by their own choice and only bringing out the full extent of their power when needed.

False Gods generally tend to specialize in certain elemental abilities as well, allowing them to brandish stronger versions of more common elemental abilities. As these 'Improved Cards' are discovered, they can be listed in their profile.
Quote
Name : Akebono
Gender : Male
Element : :gravity
Known Improved Cards :
Focused Black Hole - Instead of indiscriminately draining energy from all targets in range, can selectively drain individually targeted elementals in the same area. Can also specify which energies are drained, if Akebono needs a certain type of pure energy but doesn't want another element mixing with it.
Bio: An armored giant who enjoys riding Massive Dragons, Akebono is a False God who does not like actions without reason and ensures that his opponents will be -definitely- crushed with his overwhelming force. The recent disruption in the balance of elemental energies has left him worried, as he strives to make sure the realms on both sides of Lady Isharugi's 'elemental sphere' will not consume each other in mindless conflict.
Quote
Name : Divine Glory
Gender : Female
Element : :light :fire
Known Improved Cards :
Morning Sun : An indestructible blade of pure light, unable to be destroyed by anything, even if said 'anything' is not known to her or involves an unorthodox tactic like wiping the blade from existence or aging it to the point of oblivion. It sometimes seems to move on it's own even when Divine Glory is unconscious, (and thus unable to control Animated Weapon), making some question whether the actual Divine Glory is the woman or the sword.
Bio: A young and spirited warrior, Divine Glory tries to keep the image of a veteran warrior hardened by battle but is really quite soft and timid when you get to know her. Seemingly unfazed by the potential crisis, she views the impending Void 'invasion' as the ultimate test of cooperation between the elements, known and unknown. When not wearing her helmet, her flaming red hair and eyes are a great inspiration to many on the battlefield.
Quote
Name :  Lionheart
Gender : Male
Element : :time :aether :light
Known Improved Cards :
Temporal Placement : An eldritch mix of Reverse Time and Quintessence, Lionheart can place himself in any temporal state of being he wishes to be, while retaining his intelligence. This makes him a great spy, able to become a quiet unspoken child one second and a roaring warrior of destruction the next.
Phantom Eternity : An Eternity enchanted with sheer amounts of Aether, it has the ability to not only cast the standard-fare Reverse Time but can also cast what he describes to be 'Freeze Time' and 'Forward Time', with one briefly freezing an elemental in place while the other moves them forward in the endless steam of time.
Bio: His real form being a blond-bearded warrior with shining white eyes, Lionheart loves the glory of battle and can often be seen observing the most recent Arena fight or an Elemental Academy's military training. Despite this, he is well aware that war will not solve everything and is willing to openly negotiate with the other elements to prepare for what might be the greatest battle of all time. Doesn't have a good sense of humor, though he tries.

This is Neptune. I don't know how the "Improved Cards" should work, but hope you guys enjoy it.

Name: Neptune
Gender: Male
Element: :water :air
Known Improved Cards:
Absolute Zero- Congeals all the enemies to its minimal energy state, zapping energy from them and causes them to be brittle and suffer from severe hypothermia. Then, by using a simple shockwave, they will fall apart and break into millions of pieces. Currently no creature is able to withstand the extreme cold except the ethereal, for they can’t be targeted by his hiemal forces.
Bio: Neptune, was originally named as Caesitas, the Latin word for blue, for he loved manipulating water. He had proven himself to be a pure elementalist when he was young, controlling water at its finest. He was able to take down enemies by using his ingenious knowledge of aquatic spells and skills. A simple click, a man down, another click, another man down. He soon got hold of the piscine creatures, creating forces with the Abyss Crawlers, Ice Dragons and the like. When he was a teenager, he already had a rebellious spirit, with his great power of water, he wanted more power and to dominate the entire sea. Discovering new techniques from his experience with the coastal wind, he invented the Shockwave, able to stun enemies, and with the addition of freeze before that, instant death. The forces that tried to stop him were useless against his elemental power. They were shattered to millions of pieces, engraved in ice and it will be impossible to reshape their bodies due to the moving waters. With so much power in his hand, he went to face the Water Goddess Perchta himself. He called himself, Poseidon, the masculine version of Perchta, the dominator the seas.

“Da sedem, si non te faciem meam!” (If you do not give me your throne, you will face my wrath!) He yelled at her.

“Quomodo audes loqui sicut ad sepulchrum?” (How dare you talk like that to a goddess?) She replied.

This agitated Poseidon and so they battled for hours. It was hard to decide who will win the battle. But eventually, Perchta caused Poseidon to relinquish.
“Unum die ......... unum die ego superare et thronum!” (One day.........one day I will overcome you and take your throne!) Poseidon was angry, and retreated. But Poesidon was plunged deep into the depths of the ocean, forcing him to endure the extreme cold and dangeous creatures as Perchta’s punishment towards him. Poseidon then renamed himself to Neptune, the dominator of the depths of the ocean, and he is still finding a way to overcome Perchta and take his rightful place, or so he thinks. Infact, he was so determined and ambitious, that legend says that one could hear “Mea iure thronum” (My rightful throne) if they held their ear close enough to the surface of the water to this day.

Here's one for my all-time favorite FG, Ferox.

Name: Ferox
Element: :life :light
Known Improved Cards:
:life Feral Bond - Ferox, the King of the Wild, shares an intimate bond with every beast he controls. Every one of his vast menagerie of creatures is loyal to him, and heals him using this bond. Many elementals find it nearly impossible to defeat Ferox, as his health seems to be replenished ad infinitum. Currently, only the likes of multiple enraged Light Dragons, a Chimera made of a platoon of Silurian Dragons, or mages casting toxic spells while using powerful shards to keep themselves from death are able to defeat him.
:light Ray of Light - Ferox uses the power of the glorious Sun to help power his creatures. His Rays of Light and Leaf Dragons work in tandem to produce powerful beasts in very short periods of time. Those who have faced Ferox and lived to tell the tale say that the Leaf Dragons use the Sun's rays to create endless Life quanta, which in turn allows him to send forth mythical dragons and giant frogs.
Biography:
It is unknown how Ferox, the King of the Wild, was born. It is possible that he was birthed by an even greater being, but Ferox was never without life. In his past, Ferox was challenged by Morte for being impudent towards the powers of Death. In this perilous situation, Ferox called upon the bonds he shared with creatures of the wild, and was finally able to fend off Morte with his sheer force and healing. After this victory, Ferox rose to the level of legends. Known across the globe, and even further than that, for his connection to inhuman beings, Ferox began to build up reputation. No elemental was able to defeat him, as the sheer force of his creatures was too powerful to overcome. Then one day, Ferox challenged a False God named Hermes. Hermes' creatures built up damage so quickly that Ferox had no time to set up before he was defeated. It was then he realized that he needed healing power. Realizing that he shared a unique bond with animals, he learned to harness it for his own health. And so, Ferox became one of the greatest False Gods in the history of existence...
