Chapter 2: Sculpting the World
After Zanzarino's untimely death, Rainbow inherited leadership of his master's world. However, Rainbow also became silent and mournful. Even though he continued to maintain balance of the world, he hesitated speaking with mortals. Instead, he chose twelve purest souls and granted them blessing of one of the twelve elements. Those souls became known as True Gods as their respective elements
Titarr, soul of Integrity, became the God of Earth
Efrena, soul of Freedom, became the Goddess of Air
Caion, soul of Bravery, became the God of Fire
Lysina, soul of Patience, became the Goddess of Water
Lupeus, soul of Righteousness, became the God of Light
Nutarr, soul of Perseverance, became the God of Darkness
Agheia, soul of Serenity, became the Goddess of Life
Sopdione, soul of Mercy, became the Goddess of Death
Ogdall, soul of Honor, became the God of Time
Zaquemis, soul of of Wisdom, became the Goddess of Aether
Gimldir, soul of Valor, became the God of Gravity
Cyrlena, soul of Changeability, became the Goddess of Entropy
These twelve Deities were made responsible for teaching mortals the way of elements, and help them build elemental empires, that'd make Zanzarino proud. Not all of new deities succeeded, however. Nutarr found it very difficult to communicate with his subjects, due to his appearance: Mortals were afraid of Dark God, and every time his shadowy figure would be seen, mortals would found it to be a bad sign or even a curse. Even dreams, in which Nutarr would appear were called nightmares. Sopdione, while didn't have as much trouble to talk with her subjects, found it more appealing to her to create chemical elements, such as arsenic or gold. She, among some of Earth's scientists, dedicated her time to create a large variety of chemicals and minerals, that later brought a great diversity into life of miners and smiths.
There was also Lupeus, who absolutely adored speaking with his subjects. He built a great civilization, and if it wasn't for one particular mortal lady, his Light Kingdom would outgrow every other empire. History doesn't change, however, and God of Light's divine heart remains stolen by a quiet
Queen of Fireflies. Lupeus couldn't think about anyone or anything other than his beloved Firefly Queen, which doesn't come as a surprise, as Firefly Queens are very graceful and kind-hearted beings by their nature, that combined beauty of Life and joy of Air in one creature. It became clear, that Lupeus was going to fight for his beloved one's heart with all his might, and so he did. Countless gifts were given, many poems and songs were written, but Lupeus' hope remained indestructible, until one day The Queen of Fireflies finally agreed to be his wife, which became known as Light Queen. Later, two demigod children were born. The twins were called
Miracle and
Glory.
As time went on, Miracle grew up to be more like his father - a just and fair king, that took great joy in helping others, was loved by the mortals in return. Glory, however, became brash and hot-headed, which, needless to say, was a surprise to everyone, even her parents. Rainbow was one of the most worried about the children, as he was afraid that Glory could cause a disruption in balance between forces of Gods and mortals. His discussion with Lupeus about the twins went for days, until final verdict was decided - Glory, Miracle and Light Queen would remain in the realm of Gods, but only if they swore to not use their powers. Lupeus wasn't happy with the outcome, but Rainbow was persistent: He saw danger that mortals could cause while they were in the realm of gods, and couldn't let that happen. Beings that had emotions like Envy or Greed weren't even meant to have powers of gods, and both Rainbow and Lupeus knew that.
As the twins grew more and more, so did their enthusiasm. In desire to explore, see new places and, quite literally, reach new heights, Miracle and Glory asked their father to teach them to ride the pegasi. Lupeus didn't see anything wrong that could've happen, so he let his children have some fun. And it was, until Light princess fell off of pegasus' beack. Glory forgot Rainbow's rule and summoned an explosion to break her fall. And while she survived the landing without any severe wounds or injuries, Glory still was held responsible for her spellcasting. She, her brother and mother were sent back to realm of mortals. After they were sent away, Rainbow banned the True Gods from interacting with any lesser beings.
