Hopefully this provides useful reminders for the veterans among us and is a helpful starting point for the newcomers. As usual feel free to note any corrections or questions you have. I've divided this into 3 sections - one for each stage of the war.
What needs to be done before the first round?Vault Building
Deck Selection - we need to choose which decks we want to include in the vault
Deck Testing - we need to test those decks - make sure they are viable in the matches we expect them to win
Deck Tuning - we need to optimize the quanta production and costs in the deck
Rules Impact Discussion
What needs to be done during Deck Building each round?1) Send your opponent this round a forum PM to set up a time for your match to be played. Do not accept a reply of "We'll meet up in chat!" Post your arranged time in team chat once you have it confirmed.
2) Figure out how the Event Card impacts things this round. Start a post discussing the Event Card if no one else has - if someone else has started a post already read it and comment.
3) Study the opponent's decks and potential vault to plan an expected set of decks each round. Each round we'll need a few people to go through the match reports from the previous round and to list the decks used and note what potential salvage is available. It is usually a good idea to list all the winning decks as well as any decks that won in previous rounds and have been unused since. Ideally someone then makes some educated guesses as to what potential salvage is likely.
Check out this link to see what its looked like tin the past. Note especially the End of Round Discussions 4) Look at our potential salvage to see what decks can be augmented or what new decks can be built.
5) Make a preliminary plan on which decks to send to each match up.
6) Test those decks against the expected deck to be sure that we have a favourable match-up. Then test it against other potential decks from that element. Testing can be done via the trainer (for better results let the ai play our deck and you play the opponents). The best results are obtained by testing the deck against a team mate playing the other deck. I normally recommend a test of 20 games against the ai or 10 games against another player. Though that is a minimum.
7) Revise those decks based on the testing - Revise the whole plan of which decks are going where if needed.
8) Test the new decks and the new plan
9) Make sure the whole thing fits into the vault
10) Make final adjustments to decks and the vault
What needs to be done during the Dueling Phase each Round?1) Make sure your posted match time is correct - so that the team can gather to cheer and offer advice and commiserate on the rare occasion where it's needed.
2) During your duel ensure that you take screen shots during any desynch and before you win any match. Make sure to save them on your desktop.
3) If screen shots are required please edit your screen shots as needed. Remove any unneeded tabs from the top of the page - especially the one that lists our team chat link. Having that be public information can be very bad if its noticed and exploited.
4) Make certain you play your match - if for some reason you are unable to play your match let the team know with as much time as possible so that we can arrange a sub.
