I came back from the wedding I was at this weekend and was fine with switching decks.  Especially since we didn't really have the cards to run firestall the way I would have wanted; however, I was given a horrible deck which I am embarrassed to have played.  It was partly my fault for being out of town and not being able to fully give my input at the time, but how am I supposed to generate all of the death quanta that was included for that deck?  I could never even play any of the plagues that were drawn because I was generating 1 death quanta per round.  I understand sometimes we have to make sacrifices and throw things together at the last minute, but that was a little embarrassing.  Please make things that function as a deck in the future.  Sorry for the rant.  I had to get it out.

Sorry. We were really running out of time. This round, we'll just have to get started on deckbuilding sooner incase a bad deck is accidentally made.

Oh well. At least it's only 12 cards this time, a mistake like this in a later round would be much worse.
And we were counterdecked anyways, beceause the skull shields do next to nothing against dragons.

kirchj33==Sorry about your matchup.  I agree the deck was not fully thought out and I doubt had much testing.  Anyway, the next time we face :air (if we live that long) let's bring Discord to slow them down and Antimatter for those dragons.

Again, sorry for the rant.  I just needed to get it out on our private forums.  It seems alot of teams prefer dragons as a way to break through our sancts and exploit our lack of CC.  This is one pattern that is becoming clear early on.  Lessons learned!

Indeed. The first two rounds have been very useful for finding out the kinds of decks people like to use against light.
With every round, we get stronger. Biding our time, we wait until the round when we can win the war.

Thank you for doing it privately.  Let's keep any turmoil in our private area--no name calling, blaming, etc in the open forum like you can already see from other teams.

On that note, I didn't check this thread until later, but were our mono attempts really ineffective?

That was certainly not your fault kirch.  I think I had a messy hand with that deck; plagues without bonewall was largely useless.  We really need to inspect our decks better sometimes; we've sent people out with a few clunkers now. :(

I tested several deck possibilities against the 7 1st round :air decks and the mono light beatdown performed the worst, going 16-19 against their decks, while others I tested had around 10 losses.  That being said, although I was least confident in this deck upon testing, it actually may have given us the best chance for victory in this match.  They threw so many dragons at us that match, that a more offensive approach probably was the best idea.  AM may have helped, but I suspect in order to have a proper defensive counter, dim shields may have been a good choice, but are unavailable to us.  In the future, if we suspect dragons, I would suggest we either rush, or go discords + AM given our deck choices.
