My main worry is the Event Card - should we use it? And if not, who will we be expecting to use upgraded cards? I don't have many upgraded cards at the moment and my current electrum is around 2000, while Drogana has a full arsenal. (This should go in the strategy section but Boingo hasn't started the topic yet, so I'll leave it here for now.)
I haven't seen much of Drogana's strategy TBH - he's only been involved in a Team PvP match from what I've seen.

I'm expecting him to use GoTP lockdown, but I'm not sure if they're anticipated we're going to counter that and make a counter-counter deck to something like MaxHP (deck I'm currently planning to use)

It's a good idea to use the search function if you know little about your enemy's record - chances are they've been in a tournament or two.

My current deck plan is to use MaxHP to counter the potential GoTP Nightmare combo.

My alternative plan is to use Poison of the Sun since there will probably be lots of cards being played and it only takes 1 scropion to get the damage rolling.

for my :life fight.

they could plan
- a heavy dmg deck like mitosis/chargers/adren or some adren/acc combo
- a heavy stall pc stall ( :entropy BE dou or  :earth EQ)
- any other creature spam ->unlikely, never worked in the last war vs. light
- maybe something i didnt figured yet

my first thought was going for a firestall variation vs.  :life (fireshield > adren) but im sure they expect this.

:light/ :time dou with rewind(eternity)/dials/sanct (deckout or +blessed dunescorps).

For my :water fight,

I was thinking fire stall would be a strong choice, but again, like hrmmm said, I think this could be pretty predictable.  Even still, I think it would be a tough counter for water.

After testing with Boingo, I am trying to decide between either a rush, POTS, firestall, or Max HP/EQ/Miracle...

In general, I think we all have a main deck we're planning use again the most likely deck the opposing team will use, but the problem is that we don't know if they'll expect us to use a counter deck and make a counter-counter deck in response.

Firestall vs Napalm?  Might not expect it, though Napalm's phoenixes might survive long enough.

Personal style.  jmdt will likely rush valuka.  The question is how to respond.  Give him a Fire stall vs any potential critter rush?  I stalled quite a bit last war; they might expect it from me.  Its hard to say.  First round's a bit of a crap shoot.

Noob question : Is there any efficient way for us to determine whether a team will expect a counter-deck or not?
Hm. Well not really; PvP is all about trying to predict what deck your opponent will use.
But strong decks stack the odds in your favor.
So don't go with a completely outrageous strategy, but don't do something predictable every time.
Perhaps you could pick the 2nd best deck against your opponent? If they counter the 1st best deck you'll be fine; if they don't, you'll probably be fine.
I'll use my match as an example. Firestall has a good winrate against most death decks, but they will expect that. Last war, death used earthquake decks against light. So I'll be using a deck that is effective against death but is not super-vulnerable to earthquake (like firestall would be).
Here's what I have in mind. I've tested this against death's first two decks they used against us last war and it's doing well. I'll post the full results when I'm done testing.

Code: [Select]
562 562 5ld 5ld 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 745 745 745 745 745 745Chargers are great against bonewall, which they will likely pack. Blessing complements overdrive. The shields slow them down a little and help against earthquake. Simple, but effective. Note that I upgraded the cards I need upped and only the cards I need upped.
Somehow still around, somewhat

Any thoughts?
Time is hard to deck out because they can carry eternities. If you want to use SS/Miracle in the future, I made a revised version a couple days ago.
It was based on a deck that was used last war, but I think I improved it.

PotS would be a strong choice against time because they have a lot of CC and no PC (but we might want to save it for gravity?)
Death poison stall could also take advantage of time's abundant CC but lack of PC. It wouldn't deck out either, as long as they don't pack purify (there's no way they will; time/water is horrible).
