Cheap and effective, gets the job done if you're going mono-light and in need of a cheap shield.

THis may be late but this shield needs some form of buff. ! quanta for -1 damage. Big whoop sometimes paying more for better things is just worth it.

This shield should be the only one in the game to reflect poisons and maintain the low minus 1 dmg. Mirror shield is not ass effective as any other shield out there.
Idea 1: Mirror shield does not stop the dmg from hitting you but duplicates it onto the caster as well.
Idead2: Mirror shield reflects all casts to include poisons. If the Poison card is played then the HP's should be poisoned. If a creature poisons you then that creature is poisoned instead.
Idea 3: Adding another shield and boosting this shield to 2 dmg reduction. The new shield would be Refracting shield Aether or Light. All casts are redirected to a creature or player.
Just a thought becuase no one likes this shield as it is and the other shields just dominate it.

Not to try to Nerf Solar Shield but... Solar Shield relies on solar power to work yes? And Nightfall is the absence of solar power... so shouldn't Nightfall negate Solar Shield?

And frogs should swim. and Dragons should fly and attack from behind you and your shield. Unless it's a Tuesday or a Thursday, when they only do half their damage. But, in the weekends, they do DOUBLE damage.
Look, I don't want to be too mean, but I think you're over complicating things here. It's just a ccg, remember?

Fairly sure it's reasonable to consider Light elementals capable of creating light. I do like the buff suggestions I've seen of this however. Adding charges for Holy Light ftw.

WOOT MAJOR BUFF!!
Now we can just shove this in any deck and put in some miracles, and we'll have a lot of health to throw around.
Is poison converted to :light too?

Poison doesn't come into contact with the shield, so no.

A solar shield can generate :light quanta to fund light nymphs. However, its defensive power is quite weak, so you might need to heal more often than if you used a stronger shield, so it cancels out.

The shield is now ridiculously good at fueling miracle.

Ah... a very nice change indeed. :) Looks like there will be more tactics to fuel Light cards if people plan on using this more often (Miracles, Dragons, Archangels, etc.). Rays of Light, Light Nymph, Luciferase, and Light Towers look out! You got another card competing for your worth.
Too bad there's no card to improve the shield's damage reduction effectiveness... yet. ;)

This card pays for itself pretty quick and blocks damage while it's at it, a rushing shield it is...

Pretty much so.
This+Aflatoxin = a lot of :light quanta (without RoLs needed anymore).
A lot of :light quanta + :light Dragon + Fractal = you know what.

This change I like. Its a nice buff and not OP at all. Light is all about secondary quanta generation and this ccard fits well with the theme.

It wouldn't actually be too hard you know. It would be EASY in a stall deck.

When this gets in the game, the deck i would play is
Mark of Light
4 Solar shields
6 miracles
10 death pillars
4 aflatoxins
6 bone dragons
Maybe less miracles more death pillars...

23 light per turn is way too much for only a handful of miracles.

Yes, :light is generated each time damage is reduced with its effect.

Becomes so nice with aflatoxin effect.
If played enough fast is a childplay deny room for new creatures to the opponent and while doing that it's something like putting a tower for every malignant cell that spawns!
Only card to be feared (other than destroy and steal) is pandemonium
A rustler can convert light quanta and provide 46 life per turn!

Are you using Sanctuary? That card prevents the quanta gaining from Solar Buckler.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was kind of thinking it was broken too. Didn't realize sanctuary negated it. That is too bad.
