Now now, let us not single anybody out.

Convincing someone, or even just keeping your cool and persisting, against someone who is seemingly irrational is a very fulfilling victory.
Can one use a rational argument to convince an irrational person?  I'm not directing this at anyone, just making a slightly philosophical argument.  :)

Personally, I think that it should have stuck onto Flying Weapons. :) We already have PU and Crusader in regards to Flying Weapon 'duplication', no? ^^;;

That said, I think that the cost increase is probably outlandish for the spell, unless you specifically find a way to ensure that the 'mother' creature is always protected (say, an Elite Charger that's been immortalized via Quintessence). Those combos are hard to pull off however, so I can't really see why the 4->3 :life cost was that bad to begin with...

SoGs are widely hated for their ability to heal 5 HP per turn, the reason I claimed Mitosis + Jade/Druid Staff to be OP is because it in fact was SoGs on a stick. The fact that you can also easily Protect them (Protect Artifact is limited use, Anubis (and that useless Aether Nymph) however, can immortalize an entire Field of those things), and even triple/quadruple their effectiveness (Adrenaline). Adrenastaves was already a viable deck, Mitosis could make it even more powerful. Indeed, it was not yet tested in pvp, but I don't like the very idea of it being possible to begin with.

If the copying weapons combo problem is solved, no need to increase the cost. You still has to pay the creature cost anyway (unless you use SoR, but thats another card, so its ok).

And so you really had no proof that it was all that powerful. You are talking about a trio deck, that is heavy in all its elements. It wasnt testing in pvp, no, but even when it was tested in pve, it wasnt as bad as people thought it was. Sorry, not trying to lash out at you. Its just sorta annoying the amount of people saying its "potential" on weapons, when no deck was actually made that was all powerful

I was merely pointing out possibilities, problem with ai testing was that the ai was dumb enough to just ignore the staff with Mitosis and target the first Staff rather than prioritizing Mitosised Staffs, so yeah, in that case a Duo that requires only :life sufficed (Animate Weapons). In pvp early disruption would render the deck next to useless, but Staves do have the advantage of a whopping 7 HP. I'd hate to see a field full of healers, but Crusaders can do this already (Fractal + Crusader), it's just a slow Trio instead (and the Staff has to remain vulnerable at all times to be targetted by Endow).

I just went through the entire Mitosis thread (really quickly, so I might have missed something), and it looks like I'm the only person who actually played the Mitosis/Staff deck a crapload of times and got a more-or-less solid win/loss rate -- it won 57 FG games out of 150, or about 38%.

I gotta say, I'm not impressed by that kind of number.  Sure, PVP opponents don't have an FG's advantages, but they also have smarter decks and make more intelligent decisions -- so I really don't think that PVP Mitostaves would be any more impressive than Fire Stall, Fractal Chargers, or any of the other highly-dominant PVP strategies that have come out lately.

And that's with Mitosis as it originally was.  Take away the ability to target flying weapons, and the scariest thing you've got left is Dragon+Mitosis+SoR, which I've also tested against FGs with a miserable winrate of 6 games out of 50 -- or 12%.  Again, I really don't give a damn.

Then you go and 2 :life to the casting cost, and suddenly it's gone from "hey, I can duo/rainbow this into a thousand cool combos" to Jade Dragon+SoR or Frogs...and that's all.

In other words it went from a nifty Fractal variant to a card no one except possibly KDZ or Gl1tch gives a damn about.

Huzzah!

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.
