New Player Introduction https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=38351.msg478226#msg478226

Hello, I'm Isaac. I'm new to this game, and I already hate it. Not on the principal that it's a card game. Rather, I hate that the last 5 battles against both level 1 and level 2 AI's resulted in a loss because the computer AI had decks that perfectly countered my decks starting hand, as well as 80% of the cards I drew.
To illustrate. I am trying to run a death/dark skeleton deck. I draw a dagger (+3 because of my death mark), 2 quantum towers, 2 death towers, a boneyard, and something else. I play the cards (minus the boneyard), two turns later, I play that, along with a vulture and a virus. In all, that would be a good set up at the start. Already dealing damage and I've got a set up to kill the enemy creature, give my vulture attack power, generate a skeleton, and in a couple turns I'd have another skeleton plus further power to my vulture.  The turn after I play my virus, the enemy uses that card that steals my permenent. Long story short, the enemy had 7 skeletons plus a ton of heavy hitters, and I had couldn't dish out enough damage to do anything.
Second illustration: I draw a good hand for using the boneyard and all my virus cards are in play. The enemy, despite using a dark deck draws Anubis and throughout the entire battle, the level 1 AI uses his immortal ability and perfectly times all his summons in time with his Aether production, activating Immortal on all future summons, which include a Dark Dragon and a couple other heavy hitters, while I'm stuck dealing 7 damage a turn (3 virus's, 2 skeletons and something else). It seems no matter what I do I'm always going to lose.

Hi Isaac, welcome to the forums, and to Elements. In regards to your deck problems, I suggest you use a deck found here to farm AI3 to complete the 500 score quest, and acquire a basic set of cards. Once you have a decent cardbase, and +/- 1000 electrum to work on another deck, the game becomes much easier.

Most new players start slow.
I took me like 200 games to get to 500 score but it gets MUCH easier when you win some pvp games for cash
I play games, not girls.

You know what? It doesn't even matter. 30 matches later against both AI1 and AI2 players and I still can't friggin win a single match, because the ai gets decks that are seriously over powered for new players. And why the hell are you two idiots talking about
500 point quests when I'm still on the "beat AI 2" quest? That's some really fucking good advice.
Oracle gives me 300 coins, and a pet (shnieders cat) which goes well with what I've been trying to use
(3 boneyards in play, nightfall, and virus's and snickerdoodles cat and all that fucking shit I need to go my way)
and I still lose, to an AI who's using weapons that you can't even BUY at a shop (uh, okay. I'm going to negate Schneakies cat so you can't use his death ability to farm skeletons, uh, I'm disabling that canables effect so you can't have him eat the skeletons to boost his attack power, and I'm negating that charger so you can't break past my unholy shield.) and before that he used a weapon with some poison effect on it. The computer AI BEAT me without needing to summon a single creature to the field. No, it's not my decks problem. My deck would work just fine if the computer would stop getting the PERFECT COUNTER every single time. Oh what's that? You're going to win? PLAGUE! You just lost your virus's, your skeletons, your vultures, your canable thing, and remember that Boneyard you played? The one I stole from you at the very start of the game? The second you played it? Yea. I just got 7 skeletons from it, and that Nightfall card you played? Yea, thanks for boosting my skeletons. Oh hey, Golden Dragon. I think I'll play that too.

I'm done playing this game. Thank you for wasting 2 hours of my life.

Language please. And yes, it could be your deck's problem. AI2 decks are set, and a random one is picked when you start a battle. If your deck gets countered by every AI2 deck out there, you should consider improving it.
Not so active.
