Hi there https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=20623.msg261778#msg261778

So I've really been playing for probably 6 months or so- but I've never before today even glanced at the forum. Considering how interesting it is, this is pretty bad, so I'm correcting it now. Friend introduced me to the game, and it's become an addiction. I love discovering new ways to use my cards to trump the ever-growing list of different strategies.

I play mono-entropy, I'm partway through upgrading my deck, and I have experienced a perfectly tolerable success rate, given my overall lack of strategy. I do have some idea of what I'm doing, but after looking around here a little while it's become quite evident that most players think a lot harder about this sort of thing than I do. I just sort of go with what feels about right- if after a session I feel the deck needs some alteration, I alter it as needed. This is the result so far..

If you plan to play in tournaments later on, it might be wise to avoid upgrading any more nymphs.  Tournaments often require cards that aren't upgraded, and the effects of upgrading a nymph aren't worth that trade-off.  Sorry to have to tell you this after you already upgraded one... many players make this mistake early, as there isn't a big warning sign in-game that says "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO UPGRADE THIS NYMPH?"

That said, I see a couple quick tweaks that would greatly improve this deck: first, remove the Quantum Pillars/Towers, as they do very little for your deck.  Second, if you're running Entropy quanta only, the un-upgraded Dissipation Shield is actually better at blocking damage than the upped Dissipation Field - it gets a 3:1 absorption rate instead of a 1:1 rate.  Make the switch and you'll see a HUGE difference.

Thanks for the tip about the nymph- luckily I'm not too concerned about entering a tournament. I already know I would be laughed out pretty early on. It's good to know, though, of that rule..

As for the quantum pillars/towers, I've mainly got them in there to power up mutations and creatures produced through the chaos seed. I can't tell ya how many times my butt's been saved by some freaky beast powered by a few spare fire quanta.

Yes, the quantum pillars will allow you to use abilities generated by mutation, but there's a better way - Novas or Supernovas.  Quantum pillars are very unpredictable and will often fail to give the type of quantum you need, while Supernovas will grant 2 of every type, and Novas produce less but also actually provide a slight boost to your Entropy, while Supernovas don't.  The only advantage quantum pillars have is infinite production, and that's not going to matter in most matches.

;D Tried out novas just before checking in over here again. Didn't even draw one, but I did better overall without the pile of quantum pillars dumping in my lap. You had an excellent point and I thank you for the tip.

Welcome to the forums scelestus.

If you enjoy mutations, you should try Fallen Elf (or upgraded Druid) - he's a entropic superstar.

Also the Trainer (http://www.elementsthegame.com/trainer.html) lets you try out new strategies for free, so for example you could test out your deck with 6x upgraded Supernovas.

Trial and error is sometimes the best way to test a deck, work out flaws, and to see what is best.  And welcome to the forums.  ;D
