Hi everyone, it's great to be a part of this community here. I've been playing Elements for a couple of months now and have found so many useful resources through these forums. I originally found the game on Kongregate and came over here when I found out that there was a dedicated site to it.

I must say that this whole game has been impressively designed and beautifully implemented, and I am thoroughly impressed. It offers a great deal of depth and strategy and is also visually pleasing, to boot. All of you in the community are also very friendly, creative, encouraging, and helpful to new players, and I really appreciate that.

I have a couple of thank yous and a couple of questions. First, a big thanks to the Tutorial writers, particularly Xenocidius for writing the 1.28 Newbie Tutorial (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28742.0.html). It's been a great resource from the day I started. Also, thanks to all of you who've spent time doing the TTW tests and the FG Efficiency tests. Those threads are goldmines for fun and efficient decks.

Now for the questions. Is there any disadvantage to having a negative score (other than having no points to spend on your arena deck)? Secondly, what is an OTK? I know how OTK decks work in concept, but I can't figure out what the acronym stands for. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

THere is no disadvantage to a negative score.

Also, OTK stands for One Turn Kill. Since you already know the concept I don't have to tell you :)
It is the greatest mystery of all...

btw, welcome to the forums!
Negative score isn't that bad, just that it means that you're losing more than you're winning, which is kinda bad.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Yeah the reason I was wondering about negative score is in relation to the new player strategy. If negative score doesn't count for anything, it seems that it would be far better to start out with something like a darkness deck and save enough to build unupped Liquid Antimatter and have 500 spare electrum. I spent a long time farming AI3 and realized that it's way better to just start out on FG's with LA. As soon as I switched, the upped cards started pouring in. :) All new players care about is money anyway.
