Well, after nearly a day or so it's working again.
Recently (as of the last month or two), the servers for this game seem to always be under more load than they can handle. The developer needs to update their servers or server hosting. You're getting that Disconnect warning because it's temporary. You can always click on the flashing Disconnect button to have it try again to save your deck and account specifics.

I wouldn't leave until you see "Confirmed" after it tries to save if you are worried about it.

As I'm sure most have noticed, www.elementsthegame.com is not working (at least, for anyone I speak to). 

Well, I had a tab open and continued to play on it for a while not noticing that I was disconnected (I had the window all small, and that part was cut-off, as I was watching a movie on the same monitor while farming.  I upgraded quite a few cards, and played for a few hours.  I'm scared to close out of it, is my progress saved?  I keep trying to click on Disconnect to retry, it gets to "Saving.." then goes back to Disconnected.  =/

Any suggestions?  Am I safe to close out of the window?
