how do I kill the rival monsters? I cant kill them

Yes you can ^^ There are plenty of spells and skill that allow you to kill your opponent's creatures.

But... NO, creatures don't block attacks. Don't panic, read the rules, have fun :D

There are several spells that allow you to do this. The only spell that can force creatures to kill each other is Gravity Pull.
