CAN A MOD PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD, I NO LONGER HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TOP 50!
-
i have this problem too.
-
Here is my trouble shoot for you:
While waiting for the T50 match, open this page (http://elementsthegame.com/connections) in another tab. Once you see all green, retry looking for a T50 match.
If that doesn't work:
What internet browser are you using?
If you aren't using it, Firefox (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=firefox&btnG=Google+Search) will solve most of your problems.
-
I have the same problem on my macbook with safari and firefox. sometimes i can play top 50 after reloading the page, but usually it does not connect. weird :(
Update: Tried it with my PC, same problem, everything´s fine except T50.
-
Have you cleared your cache and deleted your cookies? Sometimes that fixes it for me when nothing else will.
-
On Firefox it never worked for me. On IE it worked one time, since then never again. As a result I keep playing against the same AI3 opponents over and over again, and it's becoming really boring :/
-
What plug-ins are you using? Sometimes a plug-in will, for some reason, not allow you to duel T50. You should try to disable the non-essential ones and try it out.
-
The IE was a virgin before I used it to test if it works with elements, never fired it up even once since I installed the OS (vista64) roughly three years ago. So 0 addons there, and security to total pants down mode.
On Firefox I use the standard popup blockers and add-removal thingies, but I disabled them for elements, which immidiatly made me wonder if the target audience for elemets is "housewives", judging by the amount of cleaner commercials. It does establish a connection to the mochiads database, but I get denied there. On that connection test page my avg ping is between 750 and 1k though, maybe some timeout issue.
It does not really matter though, I have now played roughly 1k games and I am in the process of upgrading cards to battle FGs. Maybe it's even good that I cannot access the farm decks, makes everything a little bit harder ^_^

Ugh... never, ever use ad-blockers while playing Elements, it prevents Zanz from making money from the ad views, thus it does not help keep this game free. Disabling it will solve most of your problems.
I would highly recommend you use Safari or Firefox completely naked, with the exception of a flash player. That should solve your problem.

When I came here first I came with my standard layout, including add-blockers. If you read the text above carefully you will notice though that I disabled them as soon as I saw that the site is running via mochi-adds and partially uses their database. The IE doesn't even have the microsoft add blockers enabled. So as much as I would like that easy solution, which was my first idea too, this doesn't seem to be the cause. Believe me, I have seen my fare share of localized detergent commerials by now :D
I blame it on the connectivity, just now top 50 was working for a short time again (middle of the night here), on the IE. It seems a bit random. Anyhow, thank you for your patience and helpful advice!

After all of the trouble-shooting, you are probably right.
Anyhow, thank you for your patience and helpful advice!
Just another day for your friendly neighborhood Dragoon.

LOL i forgot about this thread i started
1: I use Safari (laest version)
B: I use NO popup or ad blokers
III: I would rather not clear my cookies plus i don't think it'll help
Tips from MAC or SAFARI users would be nice

I would recommend clearing your cache/cookies if all else fails, as Safari is usually fine when it comes to Elements.

Hi!
I`m new to this forum.
I just wanted to add, that I had the same problem. I couldn´t play the TOP 50 games. I read this thread carefully, the connection page was no solution for me. I always used the latest firefox.
As some of the other posters here, I didn`t really want to decache my browser, so I tried my never-before-used Internet Explorer. With that it worked, I don`t know why.
I was very lucky, because in my first TOP 50 game I won in the card slot machine a Vampire Stiletto and a Fahrenheit, thank you very much catalyzeme!!!
So long,
greetz to everyone,
Ephesar

Welcome to the community. :)
You seemed to have solved your own problem, and it was actually the cache. If you want to win those Vampire Stiletto's and Fagrenheits on Firefox, it looks like you wil have to let go of that precious cache.
-
Hi again!
I should have been more precise: I wasn`t looking for help in this case, I just wanted to add to the knowledge base for the troubleshooting as there seem to be a few users who can`t play the TOP 50 games.
Thanks for the hallo Dragoon1140!

I assume you mean your friend is using Chrome.
Anyway, did you try the connections page (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,12318.msg165206#msg165206) that I posted how to use on the first page? If it isn't your connection, it is likely your cache, which you should clear.
