holy light not working on death mark?

whenever i use a holy light on a death AI it grants them health, not damages them. the card description says that if it is death or darkness to deal damage instead. i don't know whats up but help would be appreciated.

The damage only applies to creatures.

Yeah, only works on creatures.  You can kill a black dragon or bone dragon, for instance.  It'll heal any player, regardless of their deck mark.

When I was new to the game, I made the same mistake. I kept on burning my Holy Lights to heal my opponent. The point is, you're not alone. Am I the only one who did this?

I think I tried it once when I started playing, not really expecting it to damage the opponent, but trying anyway.  When it didn't, I realized it was meant for creatures only.

i tried it once. i was doubtful because 10 damage for 1  is far to OP. UG uses 2 turns, 2 different elements and 6 to get his one to damage

However, if the opponent has Shard of Sacrifice active, it will damage the opponent.
