Lost an Electrum Hourglass to a disconnect =( https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=3123.msg26708#msg26708
« on: February 17, 2010, 01:38:52 am »
I was playing some games against False Gods out of boredom, not expecting to actually win when I won a match against Miracle. I received a Light Dragon from the spin as a reward. I wasn't paying too much attention to the top of the screen but I assume the game disconnected somewhere around this point. I noticed the game had disconnected after I had already gone to the Bazaar to sell my winnings (12/12 for 10? Meh.). I frantically tried to reconnect following the instructions in the relevant thread, but to no avail. Then I thought perhaps if I played another game, it would deign upon the client to reconnect at some point and I would be able to salvage my gold, so I bought an Electrum Hourglass with my winnings and started another match. I lost the match and reentered the game but the Hourglass was gone. =(

I would be deeply grateful if something could be done regarding this issue.

Sorry to hear that happened to you; I've gotten more disconnects than the number of fingers and toes on my appendages in the past few days.

I would assume that the disconnect happened immediately after you arrive at the "you won" screen, but before you spun for cards. The game saves as soon as you win, and then when you take your card spins.

Hopefully Zanz will try to improve the saving system with the next release.

P.S. There's been a whole lot more disconnect errors lately due to the implementation of Kongregate badges. Increasing numbers of badge hunters from Kong have been swarming and overloading the servers, so there's been a disproportionate amount of disconnects and downtime in the last few days.
I'm doing science, and I'm still alive.

So there's no chance of recovering the item? Ah well. =/

This will be the second upgraded card I've lost today. Will no amount of re-clicking the Disconnect button to try and re-save work?

The methods given in that thread don't always work. Case in point, they didn't work for me.  :(
