I am having the exact same problem now, except it looks as though my account was in fact deleted because I was able to make a new account with the same username. The really aggravating thing about this though is that when I type in my username (which I did remember) and go to recover my password it tells me that there is was an error, but then says "no username associated with this email". I can't tell if that's the error's fault or the error just pops up as default when the system can't find a username or email. Either way, super annoying. Again, I'm guessing my account was deleted, so this makes more sense to me now.
I'm incredibly frustrated with this entire website right now. I tried to log in to show a friend this game so we could play together, and obviously I wasn't able to. When I went to try and find a password recovery there is no obvious "forget your password?" near the login area like most websites have. Also when I go to find someones contact info to e-mail about tech problems there isn't a contact page. I understand not wanting to have your users spam you with errors that are potentially a problem on their end, but I looked for a way to contact you guys for almost an hour before I finally just made a new account and found this forum, and you guys never responded to the poor guy who made this thread so who knows if you'll respond to this either.
Long story short I'm really disappointed and I won't be picking this game up again any time soon.
