Empathic Bond problem

I apologize if this is common understanding, but I've searched through a number of boards and can't find an answer to this question.

I just started playing the game and used suggested advice to build an air/life Empathic Bond deck.  I'm finding it difficult to get any Elemental Mastery kills, however, since, on the last turn, the game appears to register my opponent's death before triggering the heal.  Thus, the only time I get a mastery kill is if I am at 100 health before attacking.

From what I've read, it sounded like the Empathic Bond heal should take place during the creature attacks but I guess I'm misunderstanding something.  Am I doing something wrong and/or is the information I read just outdated?

Empathic Bond heals when its 'permanent placement' turn goes.

The same as pillars provide quanta when it's their turn (after you click the 'DONE' button)

End turn order:
Creatures attack -> Most of your permanents do their effects -> Your weapon attacks -> The rest of your permanents do their effects

Empathic Bond: Every creature in your possession heals you for 1 HP at the end of every turn.

"End" means just what it sounds like.  After you've played all your cards and executed all your attacks, your turn ends.  That's when Empathic Bond heals.  If you want EM, you'll need to play a Heal card before you attack.

So what I'm seeing is expected behavior then and my deck, the commonly referenced Firefly Queen deck, will actually only rarely produce mastery wins.  I must have misunderstood the tips post I lifted it from.  Thanks again for the quick response.

If you throw in a Hope (shield), the Fireflies can buff it and stop your opponent's damage.

Interestingly enough Empathic Bond used to heal 1HP every time a creature attacked, whether successful or not.

Ever since v1.26, the new Empathic Bond counts the amount of creatures on your field and heals once your turn ends.

FFQ decks used to EM so much because of this. Now it's harder.
