I donated through Paypal. I went to the validation screen and put the code in. It said could not connect to server, try later. I came back and now it says the code is invalid.
Feeling a little ripped off right now.

Ok, I would tend to assume one of two things, neither good.

Either the powers that be don't read their problems thread or they do, but don't really feel the need to address a legitimate problem.
Either way, I'd recommend not donating to others.

How dare you say such a thing! just ask SG about what to do with your code. Zanz deserve more respect than this! ok, you had server problems, but it's no reason to tell other people who WANT to donate NOT to.
like i said: ask SG or even Zanz himself through his email (don't spam it though, he's pretty darn busy)

If you bothered to check the forums before entering your code instead of afterwards, you wouldn't have this problem.

You can trying emailing game.elements@gmail.com. But Zanz currently has it set to an automated message because he gets hundreds of emails a day.

Lastly, Zanz is the only 'power that be' in this game, and he doesn't check forums often because he's busy making the game better for the community as a whole, not one player who didn't check their connection before entering a code.

Where does it say in the message requesting donations and offering a card to "check the forum first."

Oh, it doesn't. Sorry I'm not psychic.

Secondly, telling me to email (which I did before I made the first post) and then saying it won't get answered by a human is a bit silly.

Thirdly, if you're going to put things out to the public and actively ask for money, you have an obligation to pay attention to the same public.
If he doesn't have time himself, he should get someone to help.

The funny thing is, all of you got pretty pissy because I was not happy a problem I had has been unaddressed.

Try figuring out a way to help rather than blame the person with the problem in future.
Not a one of you had a single thing to say before I became critical, so I don't have a lot of faith in your ability to be fair and open minded about all this.

The fact is, it's only $5, but it won't be more from me nor will I change my recommendation to others to not donate. Especially not when not a person bothered to try and fix it before I expressed my disappointment in it's non-solution. Heh, or even after for that matter.

For my $5 and time, it seems all I get is nastiness and condemnation.
Lovely experience, thanks.

And BTW, my connection was fine, it was the game server that was messed up. I had no connection problems anywhere else at that time.

Hey, maybe you can find even more reasons to make this all my fault.

Where does it say in the message requesting donations and offering a card to "check the forum first."Thinking before acting usually helps. Clearly not required though....

Oh, it doesn't. Sorry I'm not psychic.

Secondly, telling me to email (which I did before I made the first post) and then saying it won't get answered by a human is a bit silly. There's only one (or two) person who can help you and he is being spammed with 100s of emails saying 'buff X card' and 'hey dude! Y is OP!'  thanks to other people who can't think before acting. No more comment....

Thirdly, if you're going to put things out to the public and actively ask for money, you have an obligation to pay attention to the same public.
If he doesn't have time himself, he should get someone to help. Not sure whether you noticed, but it says DONATION. Haven't seen any "Buy cards for money" signs lately...

The funny thing is, all of you got pretty pissy because I was not happy a problem I had has been unaddressed.Your arrogance is the only annoying thing in this place...

Try figuring out a way to help rather than blame the person with the problem in future.
Not a one of you had a single thing to say before I became critical, so I don't have a lot of faith in your ability to be fair and open minded about all this.Since we cannot get the code back, which was lost (whatever happened and i presume you got no SS anyway....) I don't see your point...

The fact is, it's only $5, but it won't be more from me nor will I change my recommendation to others to not donate. Especially not when not a person bothered to try and fix it before I expressed my disappointment in it's non-solution. Heh, or even after for that matter.I don't see any reason why someone wouldn't be grateful for a free game with such qualities and with NO requirement to pay. And again, you are DONATING and not BUYING. I'd like to emphasize this difference...

For my $5 and time, it seems all I get is nastiness and condemnation.
Lovely experience, thanks. You get an amazing game and if you took the effort and had been more intelligent you could realize what you miss....

And BTW, my connection was fine, it was the game server that was messed up. I had no connection problems anywhere else at that time.Server issue.... maybe.....

Hey, maybe you can find even more reasons to make this all my fault. Not your fault, but recommending something that you have no idea about is.

Oh, it doesn't. Sorry I'm not psychic.
Of course it doesn't. But simple, common sense would tell you to make sure you know all the consequences of what you're doing before you do it. Just come onto the forums and search for 'donation', or even pop into chat and ask how it can go wrong.

Secondly, telling me to email (which I did before I made the first post) and then saying it won't get answered by a human is a bit silly.
What is also silly here is that you're not paying attention to the key words 'try', 'but', and 'currently'. If you see those words, it means that it could be a solution when he removes the filter, just not now.

Thirdly, if you're going to put things out to the public and actively ask for money, you have an obligation to pay attention to the same public.
If he doesn't have time himself, he should get someone to help.
He does not 'actively ask for money'. He has a donation system set up, ture, but he does not require any money at all to play the game. And he has plenty of time, which he would likely rather spend on improving the game for all the players. Why should he help you and not the person who refreshed his browser by accident before he clicked on his mark from a tourney win, for example?his

The funny thing is, all of you got pretty pissy because I was not happy a problem I had has been unaddressed.
Ironic statement, considering you're the one who's being pissy about getting a clear response to your 'problem'. I gave you the facts and you think it's cute to respond to it like I know nothing. See how it feels?

Try figuring out a way to help rather than blame the person with the problem in future.
Not a one of you had a single thing to say before I became critical, so I don't have a lot of faith in your ability to be fair and open minded about all this.
That is the single way you even can get help with this problem, is by contacting Zanz himself. Posting on the forums will inform us regular players who can try to help you, but we ourselves cannot do anything. How that isn't clear I will never understand.

It is plenty fair that when someone inputs a reward code they can't put it in again, is it not. That system is in place so that the same code cannot be used twice.

I'm honestly not trying to be critical, I'm trying to give you the outright facts. There are some things that can be fixed and somethings that can't. Your problem here likely can, given time, patience, and the one person who can help you being informed of the matter.

And BTW, my connection was fine, it was the game server that was messed up. I had no connection problems anywhere else at that time.

Hey, maybe you can find even more reasons to make this all my fault.
It's possible your connection, or even the game's server, conked out for just a short amount of time. Long enough for you to get the error message and not be able to place in the code again. And yes, there are several ways a person can screw this process up...which leads right back to my first point.

That said, if I see Zanz (and when he's ready to release a new patch I likely will) I will tell him of your issue and hopefully he will come around to help you.

Even more pissiness and condemnation.
An excellent way to make others think this is a good place to come and a good game to play.

This is a cut and paste of what it tells you when you click on the donate button:
Elements. A donation of $5 or more will be rewarded with a gift card

So yes, one should expect a promise to be honored. And that's not an optional or conditional statement.

So I got my code, but not my gift card.

As far as "not thinking?"
Are you cracked? Everything in our lives should be checked out at a forum, even if presented in a simple and easy to understand fashion?
That's the most arrogant statement on this whole page.

I hope your shower went well.

Had that happened, my second frustrated post after three days of feeling as if it made no difference might not have happened.

That's progress at least.
Had a similar response been made after my first post, rather than 3 days of feeling as if no one cared to address my problem, it's likely the second post would not have occurred.
I don't think the designer set out to screw me and I've never suggested that, but I do feel a level of care is in order if you put something out to the public, free or not.
Anyway, thanks in advance if you bring this to his attention and we can get this resolved.

The promise was honored. The 'gift card' he mentions is the code you are provided. Because connection to the server was lost when you put in the code, you were not able to select a reward, and since you put in the code once, you could not get the reward if you tried again. Be patient and try to see if you can find Zanz to get a reward.

Admittedly Gen did not help any, but he probably feels you were being just as 'pissy' as he was.

this thread should be locked. this thread reminds me of kidsinister, if you remember him.
argument for rokkr
While i understand your point, just because YOU had connection problems preventing your code from being used doesnt mean other people shouldnt donate. I would also be somewhat mad if i donated money and was promised a reward and didnt get it. And you didnt HAVE to donate, nobody forced you to, and i dont think people should donate just to get the rewards, its totally underwhelming :P
argument for dd
You points are totally correct. Thats it. However, dont take this the wrong way, but you did something i seem to do semi-frequently, get over-involved in threads where people hate on the game, and come across differently than i think you meant to.
While i may be right on some points, i may be totally wrong on other points. just keep that in mind

Jesus. Calm down. Seems likee Rokkr was annoyed at a problem, and only got more angry because he expected help and it was ignored, and the first reponse was kind of the opposite of help. Then it escalted from that. Rokkr, I would suggest either quitting (this isn't the most epic game that everyone has to play) if you don't like the game (come on, it's just $5) and if you do like it, have patience for Zanzarino to come back (he has a job and a life and doesn't check the forums too often, but if you catch him in chat he'll probably do something to help).
